My girlfriend and I recently dined at Rubio’s and unfortunately had a very unpleasant experience. Shortly after eating, we both developed stomach aches and ended up vomiting. We’ve enjoyed Rubio’s in the past, but this incident has left us concerned about food safety. I hope the management looks into this to ensure it doesn’t happen to anyone else.
Also, the employee who took our order had bloodshot red eyes and seemed visibly impaired and really struggled to take our order. Whether he was tired, sick, or under the influence, it was very unprofessional and concerning, especially with handling food.
Never disappointed coming to this location.
We really like the menu and food. We ordered at the store takeout for 5 meals. It is always disappointing when you get home, and an expensive entre is totally delivered wrong. In this case, a Taco Salad ended up being some mango concoction that was plain wrong. We spent over $60.00 including tip, and our cashier seemed totally unappreciative and bothered by taking an order and our money. It left me feeling like this store is not customer focused. It is expensive food these days, and the lack of care and appreciation means we are done with Rubios in Oro Valley. I am betting this store is on its last legs, that is the feeling we got.
Surprisingly, good food!! I had the California bowl with chicken.
Delicious
We were sleeping on Rubios. We’ve enjoyed everything we've had from here. Would recommend anyone who likes Mexican give it a chance.
This was our first time trying Rubio's. It was quite good. We happened to stop by on a Tuesday and took advantage of the Taco Tuesday deals. The chicken and steak taco were both tasty, but I found the fish tacos to be surprisingly delicious. The pieces of fish were large and had a wonderful crunch. The salsa bar was a nice touch, especially the smoked one. I would give five stars but there were two employees on their phones nearly constantly, while tables, floors and seats needed cleaning. Other than that, well done to this team.
Love the shrimp tacos.
Always been a fan of Rubio’s food up until recently. Last night I ordered Baja shrimp 2 taco plate. Both tacos came with 2 pcs of shrimp and a ton of cabbage / lettuce. Flavor was good, no substance. The time before this I ordered the shrimp burrito which was mostly beans and rice. I can get a better deal at Filiberto’s in the same complex.

Food is good. A little on the expensive side though, but the food is fresh so it is worth the increased price.

Bro this place is so overpriced and with it being you’ll drop 20 bucks on just 2-3 items and they’ll up charge for sauce it’s garbage. You pay for so much but have to pay for sauce or ranch , then you have other restaurants like in n out , kfc , anywhere else that doesn’t mind handing out as many sauces you ask for.

A little expensive for cold fish tacos. We were not impressed.
