Grand Canyon Caverns offers clean rooms despite being outdated. The front desk staff is helpful, and the restaurant serves great food given the remote location. Visitors can enjoy a continental breakfast included in the $20 cost, though the bathroom situation might require using a porta-potty. The cavern tours are currently temporarily closed, so guests should check the website for updates. The cavern itself is beautiful and larger than expected, with nice concrete trails and strong handrails, making it easy for small children and the elderly to enjoy. The staff and tour guide are highly praised for their knowledge and excellent service. The restaurant has a new menu coming soon but currently features special offerings like Nachos Monday, with tortilla chips and a choice of chicken. The boss is known to be super nice and humble, and the area is regarded as one of the top unique hotel rooms in the world, making it a must-visit destination in Arizona and along Highway 66. Recent visitors appreciated the ongoing exploration efforts, with opportunities to go deep into the caves with a guide. They enjoyed the Slothy Pulled Pork sandwiches and Fry bread taco, both fresh and tasty, and appreciated the fresh brewed iced tea refilled often. The experience was more enjoyable than expected, with easy walks and a friendly guide. A unique feature is the combo tour that includes lunch at the bottom of the cavern, 200 feet down, where bison burgers and other meals are served. There is also a 'hotel room' at the bottom in a large cavern, with two queen beds, TV, DVD movies, and a turntable for music, booked a year in advance. Visitors look forward to returning for more tours and exploring the cavern further.
