The service is consistently great. Friendly, efficient and conscientious wait staff. Excellent variety of menu selections all at fair, realistic prices. This is our favorite dining establishment on the mountain.

The Hungry Buffalo is an incredible restaurant. The owner, Scott Waddle, always makes sure that their customers are well taken care of. They have the best Prime Rib in the White Mountains. They have the best Friday Fish Fry in the White Mountains and they have the Best Pizza in the White Mountains. My wife and I love the place and are often there with friends!

This place was formerly the Porter Mountain Steakhouse so it has all the informal ambiance of the old West Menu is varied and unique and portions are large which justified the slightly higher than average prices. Servers were friendly and attentive. The place fills up after 5:00pm so get there early if you can. We will go there again when we are in Show Low.

This was our second time here and it did not disappoint just like our first! We came in as a party of 4 on Saturday night for their prime rib special. Ryan was our server and he was hands down one of the best servers I’ve ever had. The food and drinks were outstanding. We had the jalapeño poppers as an appetizer which were incredible! Each person in our party had a different drink which all came out perfect! We had the ribs, prime rib, burnt ends and chicken sandwich. Everything came out perfect and more importantly, hot off the grill. To end our dining experience we decided to give each dessert a try. I will tell you that you cannot go wrong with any decision you make drink, dinner or dessert wise. There is true passion behind the scenes that is portrayed in every one of their meals and drinks. We will be back and look forward to trying another awesome menu item. Scott and Marina…. You guys have got a great thing going on and we look forward to sharing this slice of heaven in the white mountains with our friends and family in the days and years to come.

Got there at 6 ordered fried pickles and our meal. Fried pickles were one big fried glob all stuck together. Someone in kitchen has no idea what they are doing.45 minutes later still no main course. Waiter Hannah would not even look our way. Tried to flag down guy in black cowboy hat I assumed was manager no luck, to busy talking to buddies. After being there 1 hour put 20 dollars on table for pickles and 2 teas and walked out. Bottom line if you want to be served same day you get there go somewhere else.

Ok ok ok. We have been looking for our "diamond in the rough" for 2 years (we come for rodeo). This.is.it. the Buffalo bite appetizer was amazing. The margs? *chefs kiss*. My husband likened his praised short rib to "a meat cotton ball" it was that tender. The owner is amazing, he'll come and check on you. My daughter and I both got the fried chicken sandwich. It was humongous so share! Overall we just really liked this place. We appreciate the care and attentiveness of the waitstaff.

We showed up tonight to find out the Hungry buffalo was short cooks and waiters, we waited a short 5 mins and were seated I chose the 12oz and requested med rare the new bread rolls were an upgrade from the old ones and very good, I received my salad which was always 5 stars and no different tonight, before I could finish my first beer I was served by our favorite and fantastic waiter Stephanie with my steak which on this unassuming Friday turned up so perfectly cooked and seasoned I had to call Scott the owner over to thank him and his chef, so thank you Liam the cook and the hungry buffalo staff who showed up tonight and served this guy the best steak he’s ever had !

Best restaurant on the mountain, excellent service from the moment you walk through the door, amazing atmosphere, casual western theme, being a retired business owner it is sooooo refreshing to see Scott the owner going table to table making sure everyone is satisfied with there dinner and having a great conversation with him as well. If you haven't tried them out yet your missing out, you will not be dissapointed, entire staff is is friendly, pleasant and on top of their game.
