We wanted to take our son to a special place when he visited. He’s in restaurant management, so eating out is what it’s all about to him.
We chose the Badger’s Den after hearing all the good things. The quality and experience were amazing,
We had the ahi tuna wonton appetizer first— perfect start. Then we shared a shrimp Caesar. The shrimps were tender, chilled and perfect. The dressing was light and delicious. These are things that vary from place to place, but Badger’s Den’s Caesar is the standard. I am not a meat eater, but my son had a steak and a meat plate that he said were excellent. I had southwestern mussels with linguini; they were clean, tasted amazing and had just the right texture— maybe the best mussels ever. We had side dishes of coleslaw, macaroni and fried okra. My wife shared all of our food. I was comfortably full but my son took the banana cream cookie butter pie home for dessert. Nothing disappointed from the courteousness of the server to the timing and temperature of the food.
Not sure what to order next time, but we will definitely be back.

Recently, my wife and I went to Badger’s Den for my birthday dinner. We had made a reservation for 5 p.m., and when we arrived, our table was ready and we were promptly seated. On a Friday night, the place was very busy and had a nice vibe.

Looking over the wine menu, they had a good selection with various price points. I selected the Moxx Roxx Zinfandel, which I’ve had before—it’s a very nice mid-priced choice that also has a Vivino rating of 4.1.

For dinner, I ordered the filet cooked medium, with fried okra and mac and cheese as the sides. I also chose the hatch chile blue cheese sauce. My wife ordered the smoked ribeye cooked medium, with asparagus and rustic mashed potatoes, along with a peppercorn demi-glacé sauce.

After ordering, our server brought out an unexpected garlic bread dish, which was delicious—very buttery, with the right amount of garlic and perfect crispness.

When the entrées arrived, they hit a lot of marks but missed in a few areas. First, the steaks were both incredibly tender and had a great char, adding a lot of high-end flavor. However, they were both slightly beyond medium (or inconsistent across the cut). Nothing was so off that we sent it back, but it wasn’t truly medium as ordered.

The hatch chile blue cheese sauce was a hit in my opinion, while the demi-glacé missed the mark—it lacked depth and tasted slightly off, enough that my wife asked for the chimichurri sauce instead. The chimichurri had good flavor but didn’t taste like traditional chimichurri; it was almost more minty or Indian-inspired.

As for the sides, the asparagus were huge and grilled nicely, and the mashed potatoes were what you would expect. I liked that they offered fried okra, as that’s not a typical option, and it was definitely a good choice if you like okra or want something different. The mac and cheese was made with bow-tie pasta and could have used a bit more cheese, but overall I enjoyed it.

For my birthday, I was given the option of dessert and chose the banana cream pie with a cookie crust. While the presentation was straightforward, the taste was amazing! I’m not usually a pie fan, but I would order this dessert again in a heartbeat.

Service throughout the meal was good, but nothing I would call elevated. Our server was incredibly nice, but it was mostly just delivering food without the added touches I would expect for a $200 meal.
On that note, this is one of the higher-priced places in Prescott. While it hit many high marks, there were a few misses, and at this price point I would call it a solid 4-star experience with room for improvement. That said, it delivered enough positives that I would return again—especially if a tender, well-charred steak is what you’re after!

Went to Badgers Den for my birthday, made reservations since it is busy on Friday nights and they were very accommodating. The plan was to have a great steak, but ordered the "Blackened Swordfish", it was an amazing meal. The service, the food was amazing, and we were very pleased with the meal experience. My family had the brisket and were very pleased; we decided to try Chief Ryan's smoked brisket and get an order to go for our yearly Holiday Party. We set up plans for 7 lbs. of brisket from the Badgers Den and we made the right choice, my guest loved it, ate it up and had amazing reviews of the taste and quality, it was amazing. The location, the food, the service staff, whether you eat the meal at the restaurant or to go for the party, it's amazing, there's something for everyone. Great meal and time, it was great for my Birthday and a main course for our holiday party! Thanks Badger Den!

Return visit for what we hoped would be another fine meal and it did not disappoint! The Sunday smoked prime rib is to die for and the sides complimented it so well. Nathan, our server was awesome! Badger's Den is still the best fine food and service in Prescott.

Celebrated my wife's birthday for an early dinner. Superb service, top notch specialty cocktails, fantastic appetizers and wonderful seafood dinners. They comped my wife an excellent tiramisu for dessert. Yes it's pricey, but the value was awesome. We'll do it again on our next special day! Kudos to the chef and management for the great experience we had.

We’ve frequented this restaurant several times and loved it but our last experienced was not anywhere up to standards. Our blackened catfish was overcooked so badly that a fork could not cut through the sides. The cup of vegetable soup was mostly carrots. We asked for 2 butters and no sour cream but got one of each. The room was so loud you had to yell to be heard. But the Ceaser salad was superb. Not sure when we’ll go back, for the price point we expected much better.

Food & service was excellent, and the waitress and chef were especially helpful and understanding about a dietary concern. Enjoyed the fireplace. Decor was dark, brown western, with uninspiring decor & artwork. Our only complaint was that it was extremely loud, not conducive to a relaxing meal. One of our party had been there before, and had the same problem, but said that because the food was so good, that he wanted to try it again.

Not happy with the service. We were seated immediately. Early dinner not very crowded. Water brought out quickly ordered my drink while my friend was washing her hands. Brought me my drink and she ordered hers. Finally ordered our meals after our server came back. Salmon for her a sandwich for me. Took almost 30 minutes to get out food, with only one visit a few minutes before food arrived. Lane was very nice helping us as we were preparing to leave. Not impressed.

Overall we had a lovely evening. The food and service was great. But I did leave feeling quite upset. I had informed the restaurant when I booked that it was my husband’s birthday and I had seen from photos online that this might be honored with a quaint little board saying as much. When we were in the restaurant I saw other people receiving this lovely touch for birthdays and anniversaries and I wondered if ours might arrive? Alas, it did not. I ended up asking the server if there was anything she could do to celebrate my husband’s birthday and she said she could give us dessert on the house, which of course were grateful for, but I had hoped for a photo with this little board that I was anticipating! All in all a lovely meal, but I would’ve loved for my husband to have been made to feel a little bit special on his birthday.
