I only went here once which was during orientation weekend, and I got some chicken and rice. The chicken tasted like it only had salt on it for seasoning, and the rice tasted like cleaning product or bleach. I wish this wasn't the case, but after that experience and seeing them casually pick up the entire tray of rice and throw it away without informing or warning anyone that it might be contaminated, I decided to never go here again. I have never paid for a meal plan because of that incident and you shouldn't either. If they don't warn people about rice that might have bleach or cleaning product in it, then what else haven't they warned the students about?

Staff are nice but food can be hit or miss. The food is good as long as you just look at it like you’re in a cafeteria and not a $3000 dining hall. Breakfast is good, although they leave the fruit/yogurts in ice trays the entire day with no covering (even chicken for sandwiches was out in the open for the whole day once) and I’ve seen flies land next to them. They often reheat food from the previous day and it is stale but I don’t mind since wasting the food wouldn’t be very cool.

When getting a salad avoid the broccoli/vegetables where you can’t see inside. They often don’t wash anything and dirt can be clearly visible. Attached is a photo of something I found inside my broccoli and the main reason this review is as low as it can be. Rumors are circulating that they failed their health exam if that says anything!

Honestly this place is horrible. Food quality sucks so much. The menu is always the same. I have honestly had better food at Army chow halls. I would highly recommend if you live here at Embry, to just go eat somewhere else.

Update: guess what, this place still sucks. Last time I went here I got violent food poisoning and was stuck on the can for a hour and a half. I thought I was giving birth through my back side. This place treats sanitation as a afterthought. I have seen cleaner gass station toilets. Their is food strewn all over the floor and on the walls of the cook areas. The line always has food cross contamination. Once I grabbed a scoop of cottage cheese and got more blueberries than cheese. It's disgusting. Last bit, the freshmen are required by the school to eat here. I genuinely think this place is why Riddle has such a high attrition rate. Best course of action for freshmen, just eat your own food you make. You won't have to deal with the sickness

Food is very low quality and does not look appetizing. The food has so many fillers like soy and sodium that it is really unhealthy. I've submitted these concerns in their yearly survey, but nothing has changed for the better. Each day I hope there is more than just carbs and cholesterol but that day has yet to come. I feel bad for the student and lower-level employees because they are the ones working hard and want to change the quality. The price for what you get is ridiculous and major changes should happen.
The food and service gets magically better if some important event is on campus, such as preview day, so don't expect something reliable. And the food quality is horrible during the weekends or short breaks. When there is something really important, the managers step in to do some work and start going around helping people. Fun fact, during one of these events I got up to get something to drink before I even ate anything and by the time I came back my food was gone.

If consuming unhealthy amounts of sodium, soy, getting sick, and paying too much is your objective, you came to the right place.

The desserts and sweets here are really good. However, the rest of the food quality isn’t always the greatest, especially for dinner. but at least they have options. Also, for some reason, there are no trash cans in the dining hall; your trash goes with the rest of your dishes that you put away.

Making good food is not rocket science. We literally do rocket science but still can’t get a decent meal.

Food is only good when parents/school board is meeting. Food is bad for the 360/365 days. Food poising is easy and paying that much for bad food is just terrible.

Staff is great! I love coming in and the staff at check in and the ones serving food are friendly. The food on the other hand… I can’t justify anything higher. Speaking from experience, I’ve had food poisoning twice from here. No Bueno..

On the weekdays you can get some decent lunch options. In the mornings they have an egg station which is nice. On the weekends you are better off raiding a pantry full of canned corn. Seriously. On the weekends you get options like sausage, bacon, french fries, and a burger with just the bun and pattie. If your looking for healthy options, it can be pretty hit or miss. When they have medium rare chicken it's my favorite day because it's a decent protein and they give you large portions. The takeout options are limited some of the staff really like to bust balls about getting a to go box if your in a rush. It can be better to just bring the whole plate of food with you to class and drop off the dishes when you get the chance

Dietary restrictions: You can often get dietary restrictions the the day after eating here, food poisoning is something to be aware of. I once saw a worker pick his earwax before serving me mashed potatoes.

Wheelchair accessibility: There is wheelchair accessibility, thank goodness
