I come here every year it seems for the Christmas lighting and have dinner afterwards here. This visit was especially not great. I ordered the Guinness Prime Rib Stroganoff and it was very bland. It, I hate to say, tasted like Hamburger Helper and the meat was really tough to chew. Anotehr at the table ordered it and was not very happy, but he does not like to return items.. I had to. Another at our table got the Rigatoni Florentine. It too was bland in flavor and was not returned, but also ate only about half of it before giving up. Usually this place is top notch, but was really let down on the food this visit. Staff was great and substituted my item for the Prime Rib French Dip, which I have always liked and it was good. Just not sure next year we will be dining here when there are other options available to us.
Murphy's was good years ago. Now it's an embarrassment! It must have changed ownership. They didn't have the required booze to make a simple cocktail we ordered. When we substituted a different cocktail, they brought the wrong thing and had to try again. The food is of such poor quality that I would be ashamed to serve it to anyone, particularly at the prices they charge. Fifty dollar filet mignons were tough and inedible. The "chef" was clearly unfamiliar with the cooking times required to achieve the desired states of medium and medium-well. The side dishes were cold and not as described on the menu. The presentation was also very amateur in appearance and nothing like it used to be. The bill exceeded two hundred dollars for three disappointed people attempting to celebrate a birthday.
Celebrated my husband's birthday at Murphy's. Waitstaff was very attentive, quiet seating requested was very acceptable, drinks were excellent and food was filling and fairly priced. We had manhattans up which were perfectly made. My husband had the catfish and I had the beet salad with added protein (steak). A complimentary dessert was a hit for my cake loving husband.
We had a great meal as well as a great server. The problem was four of us were crammed into a small booth with no legroom. I asked for a table but they were all reserved. I know better now. I had asked to be seated on the mezzanine level but was told they were not serving up there. I wondered why since they had a full house. All in all it was fine except for the seating.
Went in on a Sunday for Brunch - made reservations but didn't end up needing them as it was pretty slow in there. When we walked in, it looked like there were maybe 8 - 10 tables full with mostly parties of 2. We were greeted quickly and given water and muffins and provided our drink orders (Irish Coffee and a Bloody Mary). Our server (was great) checked on us a couple of times so she was definitelly around but it took an extremely long time for our drinks to come out. It didn't seem like there were a lot of other drink orders. We placed our order for food and that also seemed to take a very long time to come out... but again, our server was around so it wasn't like she was causing the hold up. The food was good (Eggs Benedict and French Toast) and the plates were hot when they came out, it just was really odd that it took so long for everything to come out. We weren't in a hurry so it was ok, but it did take longer than expected.
Very nice time at Murphys! Great food all around, it's such a neat experience too! The staff was great and service was perfectly timed...
The prime rib was tasteless. I felt bad because it was his birthday dinner. His old fashion was made well so he was happy about that. I was not happy that I put birthday down and they did NOT acknowledge it. Many restaurants do an amazing job with paying attention to the details and this place did not. That's a flaw. I also requested a booth and did not get that. So I don't think they paid attention to any of the details on the reservation. My prime rib dip sandwich was very flavorful. Shrimp cocktail was good but the sauce was awful; it was very poorly made. The side salads were plentiful and well made. They just need to learn timing with food. They gave excuses, but the excuses did not make sense. Overall, it was fine, but nothing great.
Ordered 2 prime rib dinners medium rare. Both came well done. Sent back and ordered 2 filets medium rare. One came medium well and one came medium rare. Shared the medium rare and the other one was removed from bill. Mac and cheese was the only thing decent. Would not eat here again
We went to Murphy's about 7 yrs ago and it was awful -service, food. Decided to try again last night for a birthday. What a diffs - new manager! Started off at the bar for wine and appetizer, then off to our table. Samantha our server was attentive and pleasant. I had the blackened snapper w chili polenta - DELISH! My husband ordered medium steak and lobster tail, and it was cooked to order perfectly. We thanked the manager and told him how great Samantha was. We will definitley be back. Thank you Murphys for making my birthday memorable.
The prime rib was outstanding and the Clams & Linguine were delicious. The service was very good and we recommend Murphy's for a great dining experience.

Murphy's always pleases. Great Food & Top Notch Service. We always make a visit when we're in Prescott, or Prescott Valley. Steaks, Seafood, are always great. Our Prime Rib was delicious! Excellent Wine & Spirits Selection. Well Worth The Visit!!!
The food was delicious! The atmosphere was amazing; elegant yet inviting. Desserts were over the top amazing - suggest getting multiple and sharing to try more than one!
Wonderful first experience at Murphy's. Our party had the prime rib and stroganoff. For desert, carrot cake and crème brûlée. Everything was delicious and a service was attentive. Would definitely come back.
4 of us when to dinner and everyone enjoyed what they had. We shared the lobster mac & cheese, I had the lobster wonton tacos off the appetizer menu for my dinner (perfect!). Others ordered the Prime Rib stroganoff, Sea Scallops and Baby back ribs. Everything was fantastic! We'll definitely be back.
Always a memorable experience. Murphy's is Prescott, the ambulance, and this original building are awesome. To sum up, the food is excellent and the service is outstanding. I lost count of how many times I have been there, but I am already looking forward to going back.
