First time at Taj Mahal restaurant in Prescott and we were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent! Waris was our waiter and recommended a vegetarian dish that was so good and did a great job taking care of us. We will be returning!

If I could give this place more than 5 stars, I would! I came here yesterday with my friend who lives in the area. She’s always meant to try it but hadn’t yet. So we came in and were so pleasantly surprised. Their chutney was incredible, the pumpkin cilantro had me in heaven. Waris waited on us and answered all of our questions. We felt very taken care of. If we go back to Prescott before I leave town, we will be stopping there again! Please please check this place out!

Might be my favorite restaurant in Prescott. There are plenty of great restaurants in Prescott but only one Indian one as far as I know. You might think that since there's no competition and that tastes around here trend towards a blander palate that Taj Mahal wouldn't be anything special but every time I've eaten here the food has been outstanding and the staff and owner have been amazing. The restaurant is also expansive with multiple different dining rooms and patios, has a great date night atmosphere, and is very clean including the bathrooms. Even the iced tea I ordered wasn’t just the usual Lipton, it was subtlety flavored with cardamom and maybe something else and was the best iced tea I've had; did not expect to be impressed by an iced tea, but it really hit the spot on a hot day.

Wow, if you have the chance to have Jackie as your host for dinner, consider yourself blessed. The food here is gourmet, it’s the best Indian food we’ve had in Arizona, Utah and Nevada combined. Everything we ordered on the vegetarian menu was SOOOOO good, and we recommend the key lime desert too! Our experience with Jackie sharing stories made the night super special and brought so much gratitude, warmth, and connection. She has a powerful matriarchal lineage and as a traveler, I will always come back to Taj Mahal on future trips for the excellent food and service.

We had a lunch buffet, but it was mostly just broths of the food that used to be there. Mostly vegetarian which was fine but they never refilled even though we were there mid lunch rush and it wasn’t too busy. What was most disappointing? Was we ordered a $24.99 lamb vindaloo to go and when we got home and opened the small container, it was almost all potatoes with four tiny tiny pieces of lamb. For that much money it does not come with rice or nan bread . We ordered nan bread which made the meal $33. A tiny tub of potatoes and sauce with naan for over $30. What a rip off they are obviously extremely cheap with their customers.

What a great experience at TAJ MAJAL! Waris is my favorite server ever. He is always very welcoming and his knowledge of Indian cuisine is immense. I ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala. Yummmmmmy! Great recommendation! Waris was also very quick with the water refills. I was very thirsty during my visit at TAJ MAJAL and required multiple refills to my water. After each time I completed my water, Waris jumped out, as if expecting me to need more water, to refill it. Great work on the water Waris! I would like to endorse Waris for server of the year! Five stars all around!
