Doesn't have chainy feel, best in San Tan, but in all fairness their competition is filibertos, and it's way beyond them. Always come here after a hike, hits the spot, comfort food and calories, good too.
When i asked a question about substituting a menu item the lady was very rude about it and stated they had a menu for a reason

It's a hole in the wall, but you get friendly service and generous portions! š„°
please make a rewards program i go here like every single weekšš¼ the food is super super good and they are quick.
Edit : iāve always loved this place but there portions definitely have gotten smaller, my burrito used to be a decent size now itās just so skinny and small, and it has continued to get smaller , they need to bring there portions back to how they used to be.

One of the best general home-style Mexican places I have tried so far.
The portions are big. Priced at the typical fast food prices. Lots of meat. The restaurant is taking a hit on profit while staying true to the home-style Mexican cuisine, customers, and their expectations: AUTHENTICITY! If you like Mexican I, honestly, don't understand why anyone would eat at common chains or most other places. Plus, this food is much healthier than fast food.
The beans are great. The rice is probably the best rice I have had. Super soft and moist! I don't even know how to make it that good. Usually, I don't pay attention to rice. Here, rice is an attraction. I actually eat the rice and beans first, they are so good. Then the main course.
In terms of main courses, they are all good, really good. I was HIGHLY IMPRESSED with the Carnittas. I forgot what they are called on the menu (Combo 17), but they are normally called Carnittas (slowly stewed seasoned pork). I did not even know you could get Carnittas like that anywhere, or anywhere this good. Slow cooked, in bone broth, well seasoned, on a salty side, but keep in mind, that's because it comes with tortillas, rice and beans. Honestly, if you are home Mexican cook, make sure to try these Carnittas so you know what they are supposed to be like ;) Mine always come out on a dryer side. So somebody at the restaurant probably gets there way early and starts cooking. And it's totally worth it. The food is AMAZING!
And everything else is just as good, GREAT and FANTASTIC. Seriously, quit eating at fast food places and chains. This is the same price as a burger and fries or cheaper, but better and healthier. Plus, you'll have leftovers usually, depending on your appetite. You won't be hungry, that's for sure. Most restaurants skimp on meat, but not here.
Even if you are not Mexican or don't have someone from Mexico in your family, just try it. The food here may just become your new comfort food. Most people at home don't really make home-style food this good anymore. Why? Because it takes time, lots of time, and it has to be made with one secret ingredient: loving care, while staying true to the cuisine and the customers.
One of America's best home-style Mexican restaurants, bar none (besides a handful of taco trucks and maybe one or two other places I tried in the US over much time).

Every restaurant has pros and cons. Everyone has bad days including the staff so yes some of the reviews will say how the service is poor and I will say they arenāt all fake smiles and super attentive. They get their job done fast, quick, and thatās it. I havenāt ever had a bad food experience but we only ever get the chorizo burrito. Itās cheaper than filibertos and tastier. Absolutely love the salsa they make because the red is spicy but fluctuates as they make it. Some days itās flavorful and other days it is spicy. I prefer it spicy but in all I canāt complain. They are always busy, can be hard to get them to answer the phone when they are busy, but otherwise amazing. I wish they opened earlier so I can get my burrito before work.

Grabbed a breakfast burrito from Los Favoritos and Iāve got to say⦠this thing was massive.
Quick service, in and out with no hassle, and the burrito was more than enough to keep me full for the day.
Not even sure Iāll need dinner after this.
Definitely satisfied.

Food was decent, service was good. My daughter and I both had carne asada fries and both had diarrhea the whole next day. Can't promise it was related but we didn't eat or drink any other of the same foods that day or the next.
Got a lot of food for what you are paying.

Really good food. Better than most. I don't think there's any atmosphere there but if you want good food this is a great place to go.
