Sad, really hoping for good bbq on the east side but not here. She recommended 3 day old brisket (which is my favorite) and pulled pork. The brisket was dry and flavorless and portion very small. The pork was acceptable. The buns are huge but portions do not fill the bun. Sauce is neutral. Prices are above acceptable. $25 for 2 sandwiches, doubtful!

The food is very good. We had the brisket sandwich. The meat was very moist and tender. The potato salad was delicious. The star of the meal was the cornbread waffle. We will definitely be back. Can't wait to try the ribs.

Absolutely brilliant BBQ! This is a must-stop if you’re in the area. The rich, semi-sweet, sauce was perfectly balanced. I ordered the ribs and was plenty full after 3. The meat was smoked, and fall-off-the-bone-tender. They even have their firewood stacked outside, so you KNOW it’s gonna be good.?????

Found a geocache nearby. Looking a place for lunch. Spotted sign and decide to try it out. Glad we did. Great food, service, and a friendly staff. Stopped table too see how everything was. If you like honest people who know how to use a smoker…well this is the place. Talk about bomb food and great owners.Parking: Parking in the front and rear of restaurant.Kid-friendliness: My 4 year old and 13 year old ask us every week to eat here. They talk to the kids like they are family. They have a cute little kid table outside too which my youngest loves.

We have been to Maddie Jo's several times now. The brisket sandwich is my favorite, my mom is 95 and she loves the pulled chicken sandwich and the kornbread waffle. I love that it is a family owned and operated business. The owners always make us feel welcome. Is it cheesy to say they make you feel like family? It's true they really make you feel like you are.
