Margaritas were not good, probably came from a premixed bottle.
Rice and beans were not authentic.
However, the chili verde super burrito and carne asada super taco were good.

I'm bummed. Grew up in El Paso so always on the lookout for good Mexican food. Sometimes small joints are the best but seems this is NOT the case.
Rolled tacos were bland. Beans sticky and DRY! Rice ok. Guacamole tasted like watery cheap stuff from Walmart. Doubt there was actually avocados involved. Big blob of shredded lettuce that was watery, limp and smelled like old mop water and it was beyond soggy leaking all over everything.
Won't be ordering from there again. * sigh *

I’ve never had such a frustrating experience dealing with a business. The customer service was slow, unhelpful, and at times, just flat-out rude. It felt like I was an inconvenience rather than a customer. If this is how they treat people, I won’t be coming back — and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values their time or respect.

The food is excellent. I had the burrito, it was much larger than I expected. I almost missed the turn as there's lots of construction in the area, right now.

First time going there. We were not impressed. Mediocre quality food with a weird after taste. Carne asada fries for $14 is not worth it. Even the $7 bean and cheese burrito was not worth it. Everything just tasted bland and flavorless.

Went here on a date with the hubby. We're originally from CA and miss the delicious Mexican food. Well, we didn't have to look far. Tacos Mexico 1 is right here in STV and it brought back everything we have been missing. I had the birria stew bowl with all the fixings and my husband ordered tacos with a few different meats to try them out. We were not disappointed. The food is fresh, they listened to me about my severe gluten allergy and the cook made sure to make my food separate to cut down on cross contamination. There is never a guarantee of 100% GF when it is a shared kitchen but the staff took the time to make me feel comfortable and safe before I ate. And the food was bomb! I wanted to be selfish and keep this little hole-in-the-wall to myself but I can't help it. You've got to try the food. And I'm going back to try the menudo one of these weekends. I'm a sucker for a good bowl of menudo so you might catch me there soaking up the flavors, slurping in pure contentment. Try this place if you want authentic Mexican flavors and fresh, scratch made dishes.
Dietary restrictions: Let them know if you have a food allergy. They will warn you of the risk and it's up to you to take it but I felt comfortable enough to eat here as a symptomatic Celiac and I did not get sick, so yay! The cooks are kind and care about you enjoying your meal so if you can, give it a try!
