The food was outstanding, especially the appetizers. The beer cheese with the local sausage and pears was a treat. I was surprised how tasty their custom bar menu was. have to return to try more of them. Service was 5 stars.
The service and atmosphere are great. The food and drinks are so disappointing. We got everything that was recommended by the server. Bland, Boring, non cohesive meals. $180 meal for 2 and both of us wish we would've gone anywhere else.
Food is delicious and the service is top notch. We had pork belly, scallops and the chopped salad. The salad is a meal in itself and very good. I highly recommend all of these items. Very nice and experience overall.
Great vibe, great food and great service. We were engaged here and come here to celebrate major milestones as a couple. Love the quality of the service and food and intimacy of the restaurant. Pleased to see that it has remained consistent over the years.
This is the second time I have dined here. It was a Tuesday night & restaurant was 3/4 full and darkly lit but service was excellent. Craft cocktails delicious but disappointed there wasn't a California Chardonnay by the glass on the menu. Tried 2 appetizers which were just ok...Brussel Sprouts ?? & Burrata so so (weird seasonal mix with roasted garlic & flavorless cheese) Had Signature Chopped Salad for our entries with Chicken...presentation gorgeous
I was a little sad that their menu is actually not much of a savings because they stopped doing full portions for AZ restaurant week. So when it is all said and done, it is about the same price you would pay getting everything normally. They did half an app and half a dessert. So price wise it is not a savings. The ambiance is a bit louder than the Gladly - their sister restaurant. However the food was delicious and the service was excellent.
We went to Citizen Public House for their restaurant week offering. It was amazing from beginning to end. Staff are all very attentive and friendly, food was amazing and ambience on point. We had the chicken main course and the braised short ribs. Both to die for! Highly recommend this place and can't wait to go back and try their regular menu!
Ordered from the Restaurant week menu. The chopped salad as a smaller appetizer was reliably good. As was the chicken with a spicy sauce and nicely grilled veggies. The big disappointment though was the banana bread pudding dessert. Does the Chef ever try his desserts? Texture too firm, bland and just a sugary taste without any nuances. This item needs work. Service very attentive and prompt.
We travel to the area several times a year and eat at this restaurant on each visit. We love the ambiance, menu, specialty cocktails and attention to detail. It was noisy but we know to expect that going in with such an open space. The dim lights are great but we had to use our candle to see the menu. We have always had top notch service but this time we were a bit disappointed. Did not see our server for nearly ten minutes after we gave our drink order. Once our chopped salad arrived (a must!)things improved. My daughter had the filet(a little fat was left on) but she still enjoyed it. I got the chicken, was spicy and had great texture. The addition of goat cheese gave it a unique flavor. My mom had meatloaf and loved it. I have ordered it on several occasions when I wanted something savory and comforting. It's very good. Overall, we enjoyed our meal.
This was our second visit to Citizen Public House. We were able to try multiple things because it was restaurant week. Let me tell you, the original salad is craveable. I think I dreamt about it and will continue to dream about it until I have it again! Yum! Everything was phenomenal- short ribs, meatloaf, scallops, beer fondue, all of it! Enjoy

Great food snd service would definitely recommend to anyone! Scottie was very knowledgeable and fun and the staff were hustling all night for all their tables. Definitely recommend as a must try for anyone visiting from out of town just a unique experience in old town.
I always love the food at Citizen Public House and the service is always excellent as well. The only concern is that the noise level in the dining room room tends to be quite high.
Visiting Scottsdale and decided to give Citizen Public House a try. Staff was very friendly. We were first sat in a small room off the main dining room with a large party. The place is loud but being in a small room with a large group made it worse. Luckily the hostess was able to reseat us. Appetizers were ok. Really enjoyed the drinks. We had an Old Fashion and Front Porch Vibes. For entrees we ordered the Seared Sea Scallops, Guajillo Chicken and Street Corn Pasta. Personally I felt the pasta was over spiced. I couldn't taste anything due to it being so spicy.
Excellent and delicious food!! Service was good; however, my husband's order was wrong, so he had to wait for his food. The restaurant was a lot louder than I expected for such a nice restaurant.
Citizen Public House NEVER disappoints. We came for Restaurant Week. I had the scallops, and my husband had the meatloaf! Both were DELICIOUS!!! The service was fantastic. My favorite server, Tory was off that night, but our server Calen was great. The General Manager, Shea was great too!! Highly recommend
