Barrio Queen

We arrived for happy hour before another eating event and discovered tasty food and scrumptious cocktails. I appreciated the spicy margarita which has been elusive for me since moving here. It's harder to find a good spicy margarita in AZ if you can believe that! The elote appetizer was delicious and I will order that again.

My husband and I went to Happy Hour at Barrio Queen this afternoon and we give our experience 5 out of 5 stars. Our server Daniella was delightful and accommodating. Though the restaurant was busy, Daniella was attentive. Our Happy Hour menu selections were delicious. The prices for wine and food were surprisingly reasonable. All in all, a lovely experience.

The entire experience was excellent. Service was great and the food was hot and savory. We even had leftovers for the next day and they were just as good.

We liked the setting, food was excellent and Izzy our service was outstanding. We give the restaurant 4.5 stars.

Waited 15 minutes before someone brought waters. Another 15 before anyone took our order. We ordered two drinks, and she only brought one then walked away so I didn't get mine until the food was almost gone. My husband said his birria tacos were good. My trio enchiladas were lacking in flavor and sauce, and were barely lukewarm, almost cold. The roasted elote was delicious, as were the Micheladas. It's not a place we would return to with so many better options in the area.

Very bad food....over priced. Service was equally bad. They should close the restaurant instead.

Fun patio, lunch and margs on Halloween! Great food and service. Margarita flights were tasty and they let us customize which flavors we wanted!

We had reservations and were seated promptly. There were six of us. Chips and water came fairly quick. Then we sat and sat. Several other tables were seated around us. Waiter finally headed our way except he was grabbed by a later arriving table. 15 minutes past before our waiter made it to our table. He seemed flustered but took our drink order and food order. Twenty minutes later we still had no drinks. Water was refilled and we asked about our drinks. Then our food arrived or rather trinkled in. Still no drinks and missing one meal. Finally drinks come but we were missing a drink. Who gets margaritas 10 minutes after they get their food. Of the food that did arrive, it was not hot. Tasty but not hot. Finally got the missing meal and missing drink. Waiter showed up and apologized saying the bar was backed up. No compensation for the extremely slow and lousy service. So disappointed in everything.

Tacos were great, same with Chimichanga. Great fresh salsa a chips. Biggest downside - we had 3 different drinks and all 3 seemed to be missing tequila.

Have been going to this Barrio Queen for 8 years. Generally pretty good but had major issues yesterday. Drinks showed up after the food. Food took over 30 minutes and one person not getting theirs for another 10 minutes. Food wasn't hot. Pretty disappointing

Hostes was tremendous and the food was excellent, desserts are ok (but if you get one, the Churros are good)

Food was outstanding!!! Service also good. Being from Texas, wanted to try Arizona Mexican food - we were not disappointed. Actually liked their Queen Enchiladas better than what I can get back home! And the table side quacamole was great!!

Love Brooke best waitress ever she is so attentive and on the ball and professional and courteous and you just can't complain about her. She's wonderful food is always good and if not boy they fix it right they are a great restaurant.

Fantastic location in Old Town Scottsdale, clean restaurant, with an outdoor patio that's great for people watching, enjoying happy hour and food options for everyone. A must go-to when visiting, only bummer (as a sign of the times), is prices have definitely increased across the menu.
