Berdena’s is great cafe in Scottsdale. The atmosphere is effortlessly cool yet relaxed, with a clean, stylish design that makes you want to stay a little longer. The coffee is excellent — smooth, flavorful, and beautifully made. You can really taste the quality and attention to detail. The pastries and menu options are just as good, fresh and thoughtfully prepared. The whole place has a warm, welcoming energy that makes it stand out. Definitely a must-visit if you’re in the area.

The atmosphere is just a breath of fresh air. They are all so welcoming and warm! The service here is impeccable. The barista who took my order was so patient and courteous during my first visit. I am so glad I was able to stop by today and try out their organic latte - it did not disappoint. Not to mention the cafe is so cute!

So giving this place a three star when I go there so often doesn’t make sense but it’s overall due to consistency. Berdenas has the best breakfast burrito and salsa in town - full stop. However, they just can’t seem to keep a process down to produce it consistently whether they’re out of salsa, guac, can’t take online orders, or don’t let customers know what they are out of. I personally think their coffee beans are extra burnt or roasted too long giving them a bitter flavor. That bitterness probably helps keep the coffee flavor in their more popular flavored coffees so I get it. Overall, this place would be fantastic and a place I would recommend if they could be more consistent and just have what’s on the menu ready to order daily. It just seems like there’s always a problem and makes me less likely to recommend it to friends or others.

We placed an order for a “Surprise Bag” on 11/26 for pick up on 11/27 & received a confirmation. I showed up @ the scheduled time only to learn from the lady that was cleaning that they were closed & there no pastries!!! What a “Surprise”!!! We’ve left voicemail messages & sent messages thru their website & no one has bothered to even reply out of courtesy! They made 2 mistakes; 1 - the order should NOT have been accepted online & 2 - why couldn’t they post on their website that they would be closed on Thanksgiving? We wouldn’t have placed the order & driven so far just to pick it up & waste gas & my time?! And now they don’t even bother to reply!!!
I love coming to this cute coffee shop, but my experience yesterday was honestly horrible. I went around 11 AM, and the cashier was super sweet. But the barista making my drink… she did NOT know how to make the simplest order.
I asked for an iced honey latte with oat milk. When my drink came out, all the honey was literally sitting at the bottom. I politely asked if she could please fix it because I like my honey actually mixed in, and she immediately gave me attitude. She started arguing with me saying “that’s how it is.”
I asked if she could remake it and even explained a quick, simple way to mix honey so it doesn’t just sink. Then another barista jumped in, started making it super aggressively, and told me adding hot water “wouldn’t make a difference.” Spoiler: it absolutely does.
Right after handing me the drink, she took off her apron, said she “needed a break,” and stormed out. It was honestly wild.

We stopped here after a bad experience in a subpar shop and were delighted. The place is very small with limited seating and unfortunately seat hoggers on their mobile devices are a plenty, so seating here can be tricky. The service is friendly, helpful, and attentive. We did not have any food here as it was lunch time and the pastries were sold out, but the coffee was delicious. Can't wait to go back earlier and have some of their food (hopefully we can sit next time). If you go early, parking should not be a probelm, but one can always park near Fashion Square and have a short walk here if no immediate parking available.

The place is very small with limited seating and unfortunately seat hoggers on their mobile devices are a plenty, so seating here can be tricky. The service is friendly, helpful, and attentive. We did not have any food here as it was lunch time and the pastries were sold out, but the coffee was delicious. Can't wait to go back earlier and have some of their food (hopefully we can sit next time). If you go early, parking should not be a probelm, but one can always park near Fashion Square and have a short walk here if no immediate parking available.
