We came here for our 1st Anniversary celebration and were blown away. We felt like we had a private villa to ourselves and staff was attentive and warm. The 8 course tasting menu quality far exceeds many Michelins we have been to. Can't wait to come back.

We brought a long time couple of friends because we've been recommending Cafe Monarch to so many people for so long and decided to put our reputation where our mouth is...so to speak. My friends and I had a confirmed reservation at Café Monarch last night, made under a friend’s name. We arrived on time, dressed beautifully, and ready to celebrate a birthday. Instead, we were met with unprofessionalism and blatant refusal of service.
Despite being told our table “wasn’t ready,” it quickly became clear we were being deliberately stalled. Staff members recognized us and whispered, and eventually the owner, Christian, approached and informed us we would not be seated. When we calmly asked why, he offered no valid explanation—only that our presence “felt like an attack.” We assured him we wanted no trouble, only to enjoy a birthday dinner peacefully. He walked away mid-conversation, asking us to “finish our drinks and leave.”
We were respectful and composed. There was no prior incident. The refusal seemed rooted in personal discomfort rather than any legitimate reason for denying paying guests a reservation.
Thankfully, we found a warm welcome at Maple & Ash, where the staff greeted us kindly and treated us with professionalism Café Monarch sorely lacked.
Discrimination, elitism, or any personal bias should never interfere with hospitality. Café Monarch failed spectacularly on this front.

This isn’t just a restaurant, or just a meal, this place is an experience! My husband and I have dined here twice and both experiences were top notch, like no other restaurant we’ve ever been to. It’s incredibly beautiful inside, soft lighting and so romantic. We’ve dined both inside and out and I think the outside experience was better, more private. Our inside table was in sort of a high traffic area so a lot of activity and difficult to hear each other at times, but didn’t take away from our evening. Every dish is so thoughtfully prepared, beautiful presentation and so delicious, every bite bursting with flavor and perfect balance. Every dish is thoroughly explained with so much love and detail from the staff. The service is out of this world. I’m so sorry I can’t remember our servers name because he was truly a master in his craft, he took such good care of us and made our evening very special. But really every person in this restaurant goes out of their way to make sure your experience is perfect. This is a perfect place to celebrate a special occasion. They even print a special personalized menu for you if you tell them ahead of time and make you a special dessert. It’s definitely a splurge. Our total for 2 after tip was $800+. But it’s totally worth every penny. I would not recommend bringing children younger than teens. They would not enjoy it and it’s not the environment to bring young kids.
