Shoutout to the random Reddit commenter who suggested Carlsbad Tavern! Really neat restaurant concept and excellent food. I had the Stacked Enchiladas which were excellent and a perfect blend of southwestern flavors. Will definitely return in the future!

I visited this restaurant this past week. The food was very tasty with the New Mexico style Mexican food in full display. The food met and surpassed my expectations… absolutely delicious Las Cruces Platter. My wife had the crab enchiladas which was delicious as well. Service and atmosphere were exceptional as well.

Great hidden gem of a restaurant! The atmosphere is very cute. You forget you're on a busy street. The food is very good and plentiful! Must try place!
I haven't been here in years. Went on New Years day. Love the outside patio with the water feature. I usually get the spicy crab cakes. But I went for the tortilla soup instead. Not as good as it used to be. Next time I'll stick to what I know!

Upon arriving we asked the waitress if there was a place we could put our bicycles where we could see them since they were very expensive. She said we could in the outside patio near a table she directed us to. The manager stopped us in the hallway leading to the entrance and told us we could not put them in the hallway as it was a fire hazard. We said the waitress had told us we could put them in the patio and didn't want to put them in the hallway. The manager repeated we couldn't put them in the hallway three more times each time getting more rude and obnoxious pretending his employee didn't tell us we could put them in the patio. Clearly the manager had previous issues with bike riders and was taking it out on us. Even if there was a miscommunication there was no reason for him to treat us that way.
We had a terrible experience here for my birthday dinner. Our waitress forgot to put in my mother’s order. She then forgot to enter in several drink orders. We were charged for Sopapillas that we did not order. My husband asked repeatedly for a birthday candle for my dessert which was ignored. The worst part was the staff that yelled at our children for walking through an empty part of the outdoor dining area that was evidently closed off for unknown reasons. Food was mediocre, significantly worse than my last dining experience there. Everyone was unhappy with the experience and I won’t be returning.

Had a great birthday lunch today with my New Mexican dad! Love being able to find chile rellenos with Anaheim chiles and authentic carne adobada. Probably the best fried ice cream ever. Fantastic service and fast made-to-order food! Will keep coming back here. The patio is especially nice in the evening time. It was a little sunny today even with the umbrellas. The sopapillas need to be more pillow-like. Ours were pretty much flat. Could have really used more room to load them up with honey!

Today my friends & I met for lunch w/drinks …..it was SO FUN! Our server, Blayne was really awesome to us & the food was excellent. Please give a shout out to the bartender too as he kept me in Crown just the way I like it. Thank you for the wonderful time today! We look forward to coming back.
