Phenomenal service

A set menu with care and consideration taken with regard to the local flavor and tastes.

The cocktail menu is an absolute treat, condensing the flavors and tastes of a three course meal into a single class.

Highly recommended

We had a fabulous meal. The food was great, the drinks were amazing and the service was excellent. We sat at the bar which was a treat to watch the mixologist create amazing cocktails. Highly recommend!

For my dad Ken’s 71st birthday, we booked a dinner at Course, a modern tasting-menu restaurant in Scottsdale that brings serious fine dining energy without feeling stuffy. The sleek patio dining area is shaded, surrounded by greenery, and has overhead misters that kept the Arizona heat totally manageable. We were comfortable the whole night, even as the sun set and the multi-course magic began.

Now, before we get into the food, let’s clear something up. Yes, my dad and I get mistaken for twins. He’s 71 and somehow still aging in reverse. No complaints though, we’ll take it.

The $175 tasting menu was flawless. Every plate was beautifully presented and came with a clear, thoughtful explanation from the staff. They handled dietary preferences without a hitch. My mom skipped the raw oyster, and I passed on the strawberry and rhubarb dessert. The kitchen adjusted everything perfectly.

Oyster with caviar, crème fraîche, and grape was a briny, silky opener with pops of acidity and richness. The swordfish with guacamole and aguachile came next, smoky and citrusy with guac foam for a fun twist. The manicotti with sea asparagus and lemon-garlic cream was rich but bright. The pasta was delicate, and the lemon cut through just right.

English pea risotto with chicken oyster and hen of the woods mushroom was creamy, savory, and earthy with crispy mushroom for contrast. The white sea bass with yellow tomato and squash was perfectly seared with sweet tomato and subtle squash flavor. Lamb loin with fava bean and mint was juicy and paired with a crispy tart filled with mushroom duxelle and greens. The striploin with foie gras demi and baby vegetables had deep, beefy flavor with a velvety sauce that was bold without overpowering.

Strawberry, rhubarb, hibiscus, pink pepper, and amaranth arrived as a sculptural dish that looked like it belonged in a modern art museum. Tart, floral, and just a bit spicy from the pink pepper. Not my preferred flavor combo, but it was beautifully done. Walnut with toast and honey cream was earthy, nutty, and warm with a cozy contrast of crunchy and smooth textures. The Pocky-inspired finale with chocolate, malt, vanilla, and cotton candy was playful and nostalgic. The kitchen also surprised my dad with a warm fig cake and candle. Thoughtful and subtly sweet. It was the perfect bite to end the night.

Every drink, from creative mocktails to classic cocktails, was clean and beautifully presented. The pacing was spot-on. Just as we finished one dish, the next was explained and served without a long wait.

Course is polished without being pretentious. It’s a place where details matter, but the vibe is relaxed. Whether you’re celebrating something big or just want an unforgettable dinner in Scottsdale, this spot gets it right.

Just be ready. If your dad looks anything like mine, you might get called twins

Don't bother go to Cafe Monarch, Reserve or Christopher's..

My husband and I just dined at Course and had a wonderful experience. We enjoyed the 5-course menu. After lots of consideration, we still cannot decide which was our favorite as each one was so different, well-balanced, flavorful and perfectly cooked. Service was impeccable as well. Big thanks to Alex!
We very highly recommend and feel lucky ourselves for finding this gem on our short visit to the Scottsdale area!

The fusion of art and food in both its composition and presentation were fun and delicious. Chef’s background in architecture shows through in these delicious artistic presentations. The unusual combinations of flavors were varied and intense and delicious. The specialty cocktails were wonderful . We loved everything. Well done.

Savor every bite of every course! Food is outstanding. The service is top notch and not hovering. We ate indoors in a calm and relaxing environment. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!

I'm really disappointed. My wife and I really enjoy fine dining and multiple course menus paired with nice wines but this fell flat. Maybe my taste level is not up to snuff with the menu, but I've never had a good squab in my life and this didn't impress as well. Carrot as a main course didn't really hit the mark too. The trout was overwhelming as it almost always is. I didn't really understand the menu choices but again I guess I wasn't sophisticated enough to enjoy the selections.

We didn't really gel with our waiter so maybe that's on us. When we asked questions or tried to understand the pairings we were given a blank stare. Most of the wines were paired well but others didn't do it for me.

The ambience was non existent.

Cafe Monarch is far superior if you're looking for this kind of dining experience. Course was aiming for white glove and we got no glove service.

Not bad but I'd rather go to Sel or Monarch over Course. I won't be going back which is a shame. Absolutely not worth it.

I travel to Scotsdale every year for Spring training with our semi pro and pro baseball friends and wanted to try a new restaurant in the area and to celebrate a special occasion. Unfortunately we had to cancel our reservation just for two and return home for an emergency. The restaurant manager, David was extremely unkind and very unprofessional. Even after I canceled in the morning, he did not listen and kept rebooking our reservation that I did not agree too. This happened two more times and he threatened to charge us for the whole meal, even though we were not ever planning to return to Arizona. What a horrible experience, I was so sad. We had to get back home. He was the most unkind and unprofessional general manager. We travel all over the world for work and have ate at some of the best restaurant's, for both Michelin Chefs and James Beard award winning Chefs, and we HAVE NEVER been treated like this and told we would be charged and told, this is why we have a cancelation policy, that is ridiculous. Life happens and family comes first. I will be telling all of our friends/family/clients to NOT ever go to this restaurant. If there are people like this working for a restaurant then it reflects on the restaurant as a whole. Very disappointing.

The concept of a brunch tasting menu is great, and Morning Would at Course delivers pretty well, but not great. Of the 6 courses, there were three memorable ones. 1) the asparagus salad: savory but light. The flavors paired together well. 2) the monte cristo: hard to beat a cheese and ham sandwich with an extra side of cheese for dipping, and 3) my favorite – the potato latke – the only downside being I wanted more. We will definitely consider coming back if/when they switch up the menu.
