Dickey's Barbecue Pit

Thank you for such a lovely lunch and afternoon experience. We were heading to a neighboring lunch spot, and I am SO glad that we stopped at your Dickey's instead. Yum!

I pray for the continued success of this location and the gentleman who was a pleasure to talk with and made sure our meal and experience were memorable. Thank you, good sir.

*Side note- Many places no longer take phone orders and instead use apps. In the absence of app availability, the food arrives in filling portions and is worth the respectable short wait of respectful patrons ordering in person. 😉

Just called to place an order over the phone because their app is messed up. Some guy picked up the and said he can’t take phone orders, he claims he pulled the app up on his phone and it works just fine. I hung up and now will never go again. If only you had 1 minute to take an order over the phone. Good luck.

Unbelievable! Tried to use their app to order but kept getting "unexpected error". I then called to order and spoke to a very unaccomodating worker. He said I had to order via app. You won't believe this: they can't accept a phone order. He then went on to say that he had no problem with the app, implying I'm a liar. Stay clear of this place folks! They're a chain bbq joint, not that great. We've spent hundreds of dollars over the years with them. I guess they don't need the business!

Edited as of 12/9/24: After I wrote my review, the Dickey's owner/manager responded with a very generic ChatGPT response:

"Nezza, we're truly sorry to hear about your experience. This is not the level of service we aim to provide. We'd like to look into this further for you. Please reach out to us at [email protected] with your order details. We appreciate your feedback and hope to make things right."

On top of them not being accountable for my order, not answering the phones when my order was cancelled with no explanation, them STEALING money from my credit card (they charged me, cancelled the order with no explanation and didn't refund me), there's no EFFORT to make this right. They just want everyone. to see they responded with their generic uncaring response (which I did email them 5 minutes ago btw to see if they really were going to make this right) so they can tick off the box. DON'T ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT! HONEY BEAR'S BBQ SAVED THE DAY AND HAS WAY BETTER BBQ!!!!!!

Here was my review:
We ordered catering on their online site the night before, it was a $154 order so not substationally large. I received notification from DoorDash (I guess they were using DoorDash to deliver my order) that the order was being prepared and 10 minutes right when my order was supposed to be delivered, DoorDash notified me that Dickey's cancelled the order. I called their store repeatedly to inquire what the heck was going on and if they were slammed and needed me to pick up my order. They answered the phone repeatedly and didn't talk. It was as if they knew they were in trouble and decided, let's answer the phone and not say anything. I called their national catering hotline who said I'd have to talk to the store. So we're going in circles here. I ended up ordering from Honey's BBQ. This was a week ago. Just looked at my cc statement today and the charge went through, they didn't even refund the charge.

I submitted a dispute with my cc company. Wouldn't order from them again, unreliable restaurant.

Pulled pork was good, mashed potatoes and a potato salad were OK. Obviously overpriced, but that's expected. The TV menu showed incorrect prices, so one couldn't tell how much would be an order, but the staff informed me of that. OK. Customer service was none at all. All what I was told was what they didn't have despite it being on the menu. Note it was lunch time and the restaurant was empty. Dirty tables and chairs despite four staff around and no customers except me.

The chicken breast and beef brisket were the most moist and tender BBQ I have had! The sides are also delicious, tried both original and sweet sauces, both are nicely balanced. Very kind staff, we enjoyed their cater out, I would highly recommend!

Really disappointed I go to Dickeys frequently but usually the Gilbert area they put barely any meat in the pulled pork sandwich it was mostly fat pieces and burnt ends they also shorted me on the already small serving of Mac and cheese, sucks that this will no longer be a regular grub spot.

Even though they were no customers when my husband and I came in the woman working the front was extremely kind, fulfilled our order with great speed, and was amazing in everything she did.

Dickies brisket is better than the best prime rib the gentleman whole took our order really wanted to make sure we enjoyed our visit we will definitely be back.

The tall guy on shift @12-1 on June 27th is not a nice person at all. Completely rude and has no customer service. I would not recommend this place if he is working he needs to go. This is the second time I have been in There while he is working, and it is not good.
