shout out to our waitress, Gabbi. She was friendly, knowledgeable, and made the atmosphere much better.

What a wonderful dinner! Our knowlegable waiter really helped us out in explaining the menu and we were not disappointed. We never would have ordered the chicken if not for his guidance and it was the star of our meal. The fresh made focaccia with ricotta cheese and chili butter was an unexpected treat. The house made pasta with truffle butter and speck made us both exclaim “oh my gosh!” We were too full for dessert but were pleased with our experience.

Overall the food has always been amazing here. Our pasta was not cooked appropriately. It was chewy/gummy and cold. Service was mediocre. They wanted us in and out.

The restaurant was very nice. Great for meetings. The mussels and the ribeye were fantastic.

Service was excellent. Salad di Casa was good but the pancetta was very chewy like jerky, and that texture kind of threw off the balance. The Pici pasta was disappointing. The mushroom in it was microscopic. Pasta was too small a portion to really share, as they suggest. The star of the show was the Bistecca Fiorentina! Do not hesitate to order for a party of 2 or 3. The flavor was exceptional and it was cooked beautifully. Unfortunately they did not pack the bone in with our leftovers as we had wanted to make a broth at home... it was that good. My biggest criticism is the very loud "boom boom" music evoking a certain type of adult entertainment, lol! It makes a diner want to eat fast and get out which may be designed to turn over tables quickly? I hope not. I will give them another try but there are so many other wonderful restaurants in Scottsdale.

Excellent service in a gorgeous environment. Clever menu with a huge variety of wines/cocktails. Perhaps a few more traditional than precious menu offerings for the gastro conservatives of your patrons.....but that is not a criticism just a suggestion. Highly recommend the Fat Ox.

Ordered the Pici. It was undercooked (more than just Al dente) and very salty. Would not order this dish again. My husband got the branzino and that was good.

We loved all our dishes (and we got a lot), but my favorites were the delicious appetizers and yummy pastas! Thanks for great service from Evan and especially to the chefs in the kitchen!

The food was nice, lovely service. I had two drinks, we shared an appetizer, and each got a pasta main, and our totals were $109 each. It's not particularly adventurous food, but the flavours were solid. It's Scottsdale bro food. The drinks are expensive. I ordered a Naked & Famous (mezcal cocktail) and was charged $28 and it was not properly strained and had ice chips floating in it. My friend was charged $22 for her dirty martini. Even with premium ingredients, these drinks should not cost so much.

My wife and i shared several courses. A chaser salad. A pasta dish. Can i Pepi. And a bronzini. All of the food was delicious and the service was also great. We come here pretty often

I’ve been to Arizona twice this year and it’s rare for me to prioritize going back to a restaurant I’ve already been to versus trying some place new, but Fat Ox is delicious. I also loved my server. By coincidence had the same server both times.
I forget her name, maybe Skyler? But she makes my experience great every time!

We've wanted to try this place forever and we were unfortunately super disappointed. The service was pretty slow - she was nice but they weren't that busy... You aren't allowed to order apps, then dinner. You are required to order all courses at the same time which is sort of off-putting. We were starving but couldn't get apps started until everyone knew what they wanted as an entree. The food was just okay - this is supposed to be a highly rated chef? The broccolini was burnt, our caccio e pepe was cold, the "25 layer lasagna" was tiny and the meatballs were super salty. Honestly, Vic & Ola's is 10x better when it comes to food and service. I wish we liked it but probably not going back.

Our server was very attentive and the food were amazing. It was my first time there and our server Jack explained every dish in detail. However he didn't drag on like some often would. We got the Tiger prawns and octopus and it reminded us of that one time in Cinque Terre. Truly coastal Italian flavors shining through. We then ordered the sorpresine for our Primi Piatti and the pasta was cooked perfectly. Not too al dente but just enough for that perfect blend of chewy and softness. Finally we went with their Pluma Ibérico wild boar. You just can't get this stuff often anywhere. Finally the affogato came out in an sundae cup topped with fluffy meringue. Highly recommend Fat Ox. Oh and our cocktails didn't disappoint! (Awesome steak knives btw. Never seen hunter/kukri style ones before.)
