Had such a great dining experience here. We came for a bachelorette and loved the vibe and energy of this place for dinner. The food was great, there was a sommelier who made the perfect wine recommendation. The owner Brian came over and was so friendly! Highly recommend this spot.

Service was slow and inattentive. Food and drinks were mediocre (scallops were pretty good though). Spend your hard earned money elsewhere

On April 13th, my friends and I dined at the establishment, anticipating a delightful evening. However, our expectations were shattered when half of the group fell ill with food poisoning shortly after the meal. Despite our sincere attempts to address the issue with the restaurant, they callously dismissed our concerns and even accused us of dishonesty. This disappointing experience left a bitter taste in our mouths, overshadowing what should have been a memorable gathering with friends.

My recent visit to Fat Ox with a party of 19 others turned into a horrifying ordeal when about half of us were struck with severe food poisoning. The food we consumed left us writhing in agony, doubled over with excruciating stomach cramps, and rushing to the bathroom every few minutes as our bodies violently expelled everything we had ingested. The experience was nothing short of a nightmare, with each of us enduring relentless waves of nausea, explosive diarrhea, and relentless vomiting that seemed to have no end. It felt as if our bodies were waging war against us, leaving us weak, dehydrated, and utterly miserable.

I wish I could sugarcoat my review of the Fat Ox, but after experiencing a nightmarish dining ordeal, honesty demands otherwise. What was supposed to be a celebratory gathering for our party of 19 turned into a stomach-churning catastrophe, with half of us falling victim to a severe case of food poisoning.Since our party was large, we were sat at two tables side-by-side and all of those eating at the first table received food poisoning. To address one of your responses to an earlier review from our dining party - Yes, while we all ate the same menu items, HALF of our group got sick afterwards. In fact, one person from the second table who ate food off the first table also got food poisoning. Coincidence? I think not.You mentioned in a different response that our group was contacted but you received no reply. To be clear, we have not received any missed calls, emails, or any other forms of communication from the restaurant other than your responses to these reviews. You also tried gaslighting us by saying that we may have gotten food poisoning from dining elsewhere but we did not eat anywhere else that day. We did our due diligence and are not making baseless claims. From an establishment like the Fat Ox, you would think that food safety and taking responsibility when food poisoning occurs would be expected at the very least. What we were not expecting were these dismissive, gaslit responses to our very genuine concerns. Your responses do not address the issues here and shows that you would rather try saving face than actually coming up with a solution - This speaks volumes to how Fat Ox operates as a restaurant and business and I hope everyone reconsiders before dining here.

I wasn't personally going to leave a review, as many of the other guests in my group have already commented about the food poisoning that half of our 19 person party got from the meal at Fat Ox. But after seeing the blatantly condescending and misleading responses from the the restaurant attempting to falsify our claims and absolve themselves of any responsibility, I had to add to the warnings for any future potential customers.Implying that the members of our party got non-attendees to leave bad reviews for the sake of defaming the restaurant is outrageous -- all these reviews were written by those affected and nobody else. For even more clarity on our situation, our party of 19 was split into 2 tables, with each table getting its own separate share plates. Only 1 table got food poisoning, and the 1 person from the 2nd table who got it just happened to be the only person to take food from the affected table. Its doubtful that this is a coincidence. This was also the first meal of the day for most our party. And the phone calls / emails they supposedly sent? None were received by anyone in our party (Yes, we did try to resolve this privately over email first).Ultimately, Fat Ox can believe what they like. Maybe it was a coincidence. But at the end of the day, would you as a paying customer want to go to a restaurant and have a bad experience, just to know any attempt at recourse would be met with gaslighting and disrespect towards patrons? It's definitely not my idea of good service. And by the way - our party isn't the only one complaining about food poisoning, poor service, etc. Please do your due diligence before making plans to dine here.

Was here for a dinner with a bunch of friends. The food tasted decent, but once we got home half our party had food poisoning. I would have appreciated if the restaurants at least responded to our concerns. From other reviews it looks like we were not the first, but I'm hoping this review makes its so we are the last.

Puked for 12 hours afterwards due to food poisoning. Hilarious that one of the earlier reviews was from the chef guaranteeing “safety”.

I went with a party of guys for bachelors. I was one of half of the group that got food poisoning. Came back to the airbnb, puked my heart out for 12 hours and had the runs for the next 24. Only recommend it if you want to experience the devil staring at your through the depth of hell while you’re face is planted to the toilet. Won’t be coming here again.

We went with a group of 20 guys for a bachelor party and got the prix fixe group package. The food was decent and service was pretty good too. However, when we got back to the house that night, more than half the group came down with food poisoning ie vomiting, diarrhea. It was our last meal in Scottsdale for the weekend, and we were expecting a nice night at a top tier restaurant. Instead, half our group ended up very sick, and we had to cancel our plans for the rest of the night.Come here if you want to spend a couple days after on the toilet.

Came here with a large party and half the party got severe food poisoning - I'm talking vomiting, diarrhea, the works. 10/19 people had symptoms and it was everyone who sat at a specific table. Clearly something was contaminated. We tried contacting the owners and got no response. Unacceptable from what's supposed to be a high end restaurant. DO NOT COME HERE
