Franco's Italian Caffe

I visited Franco's Italian Caffe in Scottsdale after seeing its strong reviews, but the experience didn’t quite match the expectations. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted by a rather disengaged and unenthusiastic host. While we chose to overlook that, the service continued to feel underwhelming.

Our waiter was polite and helpful with the menu, even accommodating off-menu requests for our kids—which we truly appreciated. However, he lacked warmth and came across as robotic, which felt out of place for a restaurant of this caliber. Other staff members, especially some of the older waiters, were loud and disrupted the atmosphere the restaurant seemed to be aiming for.

On the bright side, the food was solid and well-prepared. The flexibility in creating dishes for the kids was a nice touch. With some improvements in staff engagement and ambiance, this place could live up to its reputation.

I discovered the restaurant by accident. I was a walk-in. And to my pleasant surprise my dining journey started. Starting with a warm welcome at the door. I was sat quickly, my waited Dino came over to introduce himself with a friendly smile & menus in hand. Started with a main meal of fettuccine with a meat sauce made in house of course. With a glass of a dry red wine 🍷 A perfect compliment. I had such a large serving of pasta that I was not able to finish it. Not to fret, I took the balance home. I was offered some beautiful dessert but I had to pass it up. If I didn’t have room to finish my main course, I certainly didn’t deserve a dessert.
Next time you are in the Scottsdale (Old Town area) AZ make sure to put Franco’s Italian Caffee on your dining list.

This is an Amazing Italian restaurant that makes you feel like you are in a small Italian town in the heart of Italy. The dishes offer a tour of the most unforgettable flavors, From appetizers, pastas, to lamb shanks and veal. We tried it all dining both nights of our three day business trip to Scottsdale. David was our 5 star waiter who exudes foody passion and professionalism that hss been a dying art when dining out. This is my new favorite Italian restaurant in America. Chow

Truly one of the best steaks I’ve ever tasted. Super flavorful and the cook was perfectly medium rare. I had the Bistecca Fiorentina. My wife had the Pasta Erne Aromatiche which is apparently eggless pasta noodles. It also was amazing. 5 star service!

Incredible ambience, with great staff! We loved their hospitality, as they served us with the great pleasure and joy the night before Christmas. We enjoyed their food, and they the drinks were equally mesmerizing. Our server, named Dino, was a great person! He helped us through the menu, and suggested/introduced us to the greatest dishes in his menu. In short, we had a great experience, and would want to come back here!

The food was delicious! Italian wine excellent. I had pasta and my husband Halibut. Small restaurant so make reservations. Great culinary experience!

You may have parked in Scottsdale, but once you are inside the front door of Franco's, you are in Italy!

The atmosphere is genuine Italian. The smell coming from the kitchen smells like an Italian grandma is cooking, and in fact many of the recipes are from the owner's Italian grandmother.

We enjoyed a variety of pasta and seafood, along with a bottle of Italian wine. The staff were so pleasant and helpful.

This is a neighborhood gem.

Eating dinner at Franco's felt like being transported to New York's little Italy. It is the most authentic Italian fine dining experience I have had outside of the five boroughs. The music and ambiance drums of nostalgia of the finest Italian restaurants of my childhood. And the food is incredible!

Incredibly nice spot, my family and I went here for my birthday and it might be the best pasta I’ve ever had. The service was incredible and the food was very good. An added bonus is that it’s right in old town, so there’re a ton of fun things right there, however, none of the noise from outside made its way into the restaurant, so it was still a very nice quiet dining atmosphere. I can’t wait to go back!

I was recently in Scottsdale with my girlfriend. She spotted the old school sign so we took a peak inside. Looked inside and it looked like an old school Italian spot. She looked up reviews which said expensive but worth the price, so we decided to go. We had a great server who I believe was the manager. He took pride in providing great service and delivering a fantastic experience! Ordered a chicken milanesa (which wasn’t on menu, but was offered verbally) We couldn’t decide between the gnocchi and the house special 9 herb pasta I think it was? He said that he would be happy to do 50/50 of both so we could try them both. All of the above were top notch and some of the best Italian I’ve ever had! It wasn’t that expensive.
I’ll note that we weren’t drinking alcohol, which often times puts off the server as it doesn’t jack up the bill and their tip. That did NOT happen here and I really appreciated that.

I went to Franco’s with a group of girlfriends to celebrate our 30th birthdays and we received the most phenomenal service. Our waiter Anthony was so kind and so much fun, and the food was incredible! Definitely coming back here next time I’m in town.
