Tina provided great service and Eli is a master with the blade and presentation of my roll.
Always delicious and fresh sushi!
Definitely will go back there!
Shhh tell no one of this spot - by far the best sushi in Scottsdale. A whopping 7 tables, 16 bar spots and lines out the door, Hiro doesn't take reservations and they don't need to. The food speaks for itself which is something I rarely say. And yes, there are a couple pricier spots that will give this place a run for its money (Uchi being one), but for the cost and quality, no competition. We are true sushi/sashimi people - not really into fried rolls or Americanized sushi - so we appreciate the thought and care that so clearly goes into the integrity of the fish here. Stellar food!
great place, fresh, we came as soon as they opened and they were already busy! but fast and friendly service. menu is from june 2025
Love this restaurant it brings me back to Japan. They have great nigiri the salmon is top tier. Get there early there often is a bit of a wait when they open, but it’s worth it.
Super fresh sushi, great prices, and lightning-fast service! The fish was melt-in-your-mouth good, and the rolls were creative and delicious. No long waits, super friendly staff , perfect for a casual dinner. A hidden gem for sushi lovers!
The edamame was a bit oily but the garlic was legit. The scallop roll was crispy delicious and the spicy crispy tuna was my favorite!
They have amazing, fresh fish. The sashimi is refreshing, thick slices. I do wish as a first time guest they explained how to order at the sushi bar vs server. But that’s minor. The calamari and gyoza were bland. I love the presentation of the sushi’s too. The crispy spicy tuna was absolutely amazing. Even my spouse who doesn’t like sushi loved that one.

I’m so glad I found Hiro Sushi. While they don’t take reservations, and we had to wait 45 minutes (with not much to do nearby), the food made it all worthwhile. The sushi is simple, fresh and effortlessly delicious—a perfect option for those nights when cooking isn’t on the agenda. The prices are reasonable by Scottsdale standards, the service is quick, and overall experience was satisfying.
Hiro sushi has officially earned a spot as my go-to place for a quick, quality meal on the way home from work. Highly recommend!

This place used to be better. I’ve been coming here on and off for 20 plus years but… and they charged me more tip than I gave them….

The food is great, but the front hosts people are horrible and don't know how to calculate or able to seat people correctly...they always tell people 1 1/2 to 2 hour wait ....that's crazy...how can you make reservations when you have to go there first to post your name and wait that time ..they need to come up with better system...

Excellent fresh sushi. Very nice selection of sake.
Parking: The place fills up right away when it opens at 5 PM. People start arriving about 20 minutes before and wait. In spite of the fact that it’s always been full when I’ve been there I’ve never waited very long. Also, they have enough sushi chefs that they get the food out quickly

These guys know good sushi! The restaurant is Japanese ran so it makes sense.
But the problem is, they use too much rice. And they don't use enough vinegar on their hands when handling the rice.
Anyone who's been to some of the best sushi restaurants in Japan will know how important the rice is. So once this is fixed, they will be one of the best!
Other than that everything is great!
Please please, chill out on the rice guys!
