We've bee eating at this Houston's for 25 years. We came on Sunday night and after being told we'd have to wait 40 minutes at 7:30 (clearly not that kind of volume) we ordered our standard meal (ribs and French dip) neither of which were room temp, let alone hot, when served. The seasonal artichoke appetizer was excellent, however. Our server was good, but the food temp was literally better at the zoo today. Inexcusable for this quality of a restaurant. Zero complusion to return to one of our staple restaurants when in Scottsdale.

Houston’s has been one of our favorite restaurants for nearly 40 years! We’ve been to the restaurants in different cities and have never been disappointed until now. While the service was good, the pork chop I ordered was so bland! It was not seasoned at all! Such a disappointment! My husband ordered the chicken which used to be called Apricot chicken, but now they have removed the fruit from the menu so we inquired and were told it was the same. It was not the same! The apricot flavored sauce served separately, was watery and barely tasted of apricot. The chicken was so bland and unseasoned that it was just meat! The vegetables served with both meals were good, as always. We ordered a diet coke for the beverage and received an 8 oz bottle of Diet Coke for $3.00 with no refills! My goodness! The only dessert on the menu was Key Lime Pie. We inquired and were informed that there were more desserts that were not on the menu. Well, why not put them on the menu? My favorite apple walnut with ice cream has been served at Houston’s since forever! Why not put it on the menu? Mostly we were very disappointed with the 2 entrees (the meats) and will not be inclined to return to this location again. We actually left most of it on the plates, and took none with us.

My family and I have been customers for 25+ years. God forbid you have a family of 6- because you will not be able to sit together due to their seating of “no more than 5 only.” We were seated and were talked down to by the manager and they wanted to separate my family just before we were going to say grace. A long blonde pony tailed assistant manager was willing to break up our family and waste a revenue table.

We have been dining here for years. You will always receive exceptional service and top quality food. Delicious salads, spinach artichoke dip, best French dip in town & baby back ribs, sides are great too ~ loaded baked potatoes and their Cole slaw is delicious. To top it off, they take reservations
Still the winner of all steak houses. We had the French dip and it changed my life a little. Hawaiian ribeye is still the GOAT. Smoked salmon makes me happy and the shrimp in the cocktail kind of scared me with how large they were. We will return.

This is an exceptional restaurant and great team! We eat here multiple times a month and enjoy the consistency. We have had almost every item from fish to steak and the glorious BBQ ribs! My wife loves the apple walnut cobbler dessert 🍮
