My husband and I have been loyal Koibito customers for several years, most often visiting your 44th Street and Indian School location. Recently, we decided to try the North Scottsdale location, and I feel compelled to share feedback regarding our experience.
Upon entering, we were not greeted. Instead, the staff member at the counter immediately asked if we were there to pick up an order, as if were worked for a delivery service. The assumption felt dismissive and raised an uncomfortable question: was this because we are Hispanic? We chose to ignore the stereotype and politely explained that we were there to dine in.
Later, while eating, we observed another customer a white male enter the restaurant. He was warmly greeted and welcomed, despite only being there to pick up food. The contrast in treatment was clear and troubling.
This disparity highlights a serious issue. Being treated differently based on race or appearance is unacceptable. In today’s climate, where respect and equality are paramount, such behavior undermines the values customers expect from Koibito and damages the trust of loyal patrons.
While the food itself met expectations, the discriminatory undertone of this interaction overshadowed the experience. We urge you to take this matter seriously and ensure staff are trained to provide consistent, respectful service to all customers regardless of race or background.

I was visiting Cosanti and bumped into this little gem. The food is fresh and delicious, the portion is generous, the price is very reasonable, and the servers are super friendly. Oh the restroom is sparkly clean. Highly recommend!
Koibito is one of my favorite places to grab lunch or dinner. Fresh seafood isn't the easiest to find in the desert, and I have been looking to incorporate more of it in my diet. These poke bowls are delicious, nutritious, and priced very reasonably (the Hawaiian tuna is my favorite!). I highly recommend you check it out.

The poke bowel was fresh and tasted amazing! The service was fantastic. They also have some delicious, healthy and different drink choices such as electrolyte drinks, teas, lemonade, and craft sodas. The ambiance has a bright calmness to it. It would be a good choice for study/business lunches or meeting up with friends.

Either hire enough staff to run the place or close it the owner operator is a garbage person just pumping this location for every dollar. Super cheap awfully run establishment here
