We had a reservation for 8pm and they closed the kitchen early. Didn't even bother letting us know until we'd arrived. Second time this has happened at this location. Will not be back.
They turned us back because the kitchen was closed when we already reserved. We walked 15 minutes because the restaurant has two locations.
Well located in Old Town Scottsdale La Locanda has great ambience and a simple authentic Italian menu. Great bartender, food was okay. Would come back but may try some others first.
Went there for Arizona Restaurant Week and it was great as usual. Topher, again, took great care of us. From the excellent martinis to the salmon and peanut butter pie. A fantastic dining experience.
I looooove this place! Get the Spicy Cajun Pasta! Absolutely love it!
Love the Pasta here!!! Best dish is Fettuccine Cajun Pasta. And Their Chicken Cesar Salad.
Good location but disappointing meal. The service was good, but the food was mediocre and way overpriced. No happy hour either. The bathroom was not clean and the restaurant was no where near busy. We will not be going back.
Incredibly expensive for terrible food. Tasted like it was a microwave meal. The staff were really nice but the price and the quality of the food was just not okay.
We went here for an early dinner. Sat outside in blissful, shady desert heat. We had the bruschetta, filet mignon and chicken picatta. Every dish was superb and service was attentive and quick. We'll be back. Samuel our server was awesome.
Great food and service.

This is an old western restaurant with a banner telling you it's an Italian restaurant. Looks half done on the inside. Quickly put together to look like a restaurant. We ordered three lemonades, two hamburgers and a Philly cheese for over $100. Go to Olive Garden.
My friend has gluten intolerance and ordered gluten free. Her pasta either was not gluten free or it was made in the same water as normal pasta..She got sick eating here..
Our group of three dined on a Wednesday night. There was one server working the entire dining room. This is my fourth visit to this restaurant and the experience declined slightly with each visit. For example, our party of three studied the on-line menu and chose our entrees prior to our visit. Upon reviewing the menus the night of our visit, we found that the on-line menu was inaccurate. Our server explained that any veal dish was unavailable due to supply chain issues. We started with drinks and appetizers. The beet salad was very good but the sausages and peppers were unevenly heated. I suspect that this dish is made ahead of time, refrigerated, and then warmed in a microwave before serving. Entrees were average but the size was larger than expected. We ordered linguine frutti di mare, linguine carbonara, and chicken piccata. All were good but very bland. We opted for tiramisu and chocolate cake for dessert. Overall an average meal which was reasonably priced.
Simple Italian Eatery. Serves a variety of large portioned meals to cater to a variety of diets, including plant based. Our family ordered all different meals and had the same consensus: fresh and delicious meals with friendly and fast service. Highly recommend to those who are out and about in Old Town looking for a great lunch.

Simple Italian eatery. Let me start by saying I am a retired chef of 14 years owning an Italian restaurant. Spent 6 weeks traveling throughout Italy last year with my wife eating at dozens of restaurants, some Michelin starred. While La Locando will not impress you, it will also not disappoint you if you know exactly what you're going in for. The food was fresh, generous portions and simple but tasty. First, the calamari, it was fresh and tender with a clean tomato sauce and lemon wedge. Next, we had four cheese ravioli, easy-going, and cooked al dente with a nice, flavorful, more rich tomato sauce. We followed with a chicken parmigiana that was made well and satisfied. Then a light, creamy shrimp & penne pasta in alfredo sauce. Tiramisu and Panna cotta for dessert were delicious and some very tasty espresso. We enjoyed everything and wouldn't hesitate to return. Price is according to the fact that it's in Old Town Scottsdale ( read, touristy, and kitch). Service was very good, and ambiance is not pretentious.
Ignore the reviews that slam this delightful little spot. They're snobs who want to act like everything should be the Ritz.
Overall, I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this as a satisfying place to fill your belly!
