Macayo's Mexican Food Reviews
some of the WORST Mexican food ever. flavorless disgusting makes me want to spit it out and eat tacobell instead. The tables are filthy, wait staff took over 10 minutes to get our drink order. the only positive thing is they have good drinks and salsa the out of the can refried beans were amazing.
Great menu and food, especially for large groups!
We ordered shrimp fajita for $20.99 and upgraded to the sharable plate for an additional $9.99. So, for $31 we got two small tortillas and EIGHT very small shrimp (with customary sides.) If that's the sharable platter, one would assume that the regular $20.99 platter would have 5 shrimp and one small tortilla? Taco Bell is a better value.

Macayo's Mexican Food is a popular restaurant with good service, featuring an open-air design and TVs showing sports at the bar. The food has been described as just "ok" and lacking strong flavors, but the service stands out, especially for events. Recently, customers have noted improvements in management, praising the friendly and attentive staff. While the restaurant can become overwhelmed during busy times, causing long waits for seating and service, many have observed that servers like Jayme and a server with pink hair provide exceptional care, making the experience feel more upscale.
Some customers have criticized the food, calling it flavorless and disgusting, with one mentioning they would rather eat Taco Bell instead. The chips and salsa, however, are considered good, and the refried beans are described as amazing. Vegetarians appreciate the many options available in the spacious setting, which allows kids to walk around after eating. The Baja carnitas burro is often highlighted as a favorite, with rich and slightly spicy sauce. Despite mixed reviews on dishes like the southwestern Caesar with chicken and shrimp tacos, many find the service and drinks to be positive aspects. The TVs at the bar, while visible, have been criticized for poor quality, affecting the enjoyment of sports. Overall, Macayo's has been in business for a long time and maintains a loyal customer base, though some recent visitors feel it is not quite the same as before. Many customers agree that the best items tend to be the appetizers.
