Place has a lot of ground under repair
My wedding was here and I cannot recommend McCormick ranch enough for events!! Melissa and her team were the absolute best and made sure it was as easy as possible for me. The food was phenomenal, views were perfect and the staff was super friendly.
Way overpriced goat track!! Played the Palm course in early April. Everything except the post-round cold beer was disappointing and underwhelming! The bag drop wasn't staffed, range balls looked like they hadn't been replaced in years, filthy and overcrowded range, club cleaning bucket on the range didn't have water and no towel included with cart. The only part of the course that appeared to be getting water were the tee boxes and greens, and the greens were so hard they couldn't hold a approach. I played Camelback the next day for $10 more than I paid for McCormick and had an experience I would expect for the price.
Spend your money elsewhere!
Played the course today June7, course is in terrible shape. Not worth any amount of money. Wait to play it when they finish reseeding and have their summer grass in place.
We came to play 12 friends, 3 foursome , never had played the course before. We didn’t have people in front or behind and they kept telling us to hurry up. I noticed there were threesomes and twosomes behind us, so really unfair for us !!!
We barely had bathrooms breaks and couldn’t even enjoy a beverage or anything else on the course.
They moved us up one hole with only 15 minutes behind schedule time.
To make things worst the course is in a very bad condition !!!
GO ANYWHERE ELSE !!! The worst golf course I’ve ever played!! They don’t even deserved 1 star !!!
Very disappointed with the golf experience here. Sand traps were hard as rock. Similar for the fairways - minimal grass base. Tee boxes were also in rough shape. No comparison to other similarly priced courses. McCormick was way below the standards at Camelback and Sterling Grove. Way overpriced. Also, terrible set up on Hole 9 with golf school balls flying onto fairway. My wife was struck and we had to grab our balls and move to far side of the fairway. Dangerous with no net. I would not recommend to any one.
Golfed ‘the pines’ recently and was extremely disappointed. The condition of the course was poor and tough to make good connection. Based on the green fees ($219 pp) I would expect more. No water provided at the start, the driving range had limited space so had to wait for an opening. On hole 9 you have the golf academy parallel to the fairway so tons on practice balls on the fairway. I was hit by a ball when making my approach shot. No net to protect the golfers so be aware. Also , not only did we have a golf academy at our backs , the driving range for McCormick is on the other side. Terrible set up and really unsafe. The sand traps were as hard as concrete or full of water. The fairways were like hitting off concrete. Not worth the money.
Decent course but not worth what they charge in the winter. Tee boxes and fairways looked like a muni, and most of the bunkers were rock hard with no real sand in them. Some good views and the greens were really good though. I’d be happy to pay $70 to play here, but at the $170 they charge you can pay $20-$40 more and get a course two or three times nicer
We played there today. The grounds were very well maintained, especially where it counted. We started out behind a 12some bachelor party and could have been a 6 hr round. Thank you to the Marshall who worked his magic and it turned out being only a 5 hr round. I do appreciate that not even square inch is watered to save watering. However at the price per round, it's not a love it. I would have expected someone at the end to clean my clubs.
Take a lesson here with Dan Marvoush!! He will turn your physical swing and technical understanding around in 1 lesson. Level up. Best in the valley!!

Played on 2/16 and as others have mentioned already the condition of the course absolutely does not warrant the nearly $200 greens fee. We found the fairways to also be firm and painted and in other fairways places soggy in spite of the lack of rain we’ve had here. Several bunkers had 1-2” sitting water and the sand was never soft, more like crusted over. Overall nice place and layout but disappointed with conditions.
Wedding party. Went off without a hitch.
I hate to make negative reviews however my experience warrants it. The counter staff were very polite and helpful but the course was very poor! The fairways are like concrete with absolutely no give or real grass under your ball. There is so little grass it is very difficult to control your rollout. (Imagine playing golf on concrete)Good shots are very difficult to control. Even around the green the ground is so hard and the grass so thin it is very difficult to make clean contact. The greens are very fast but are in decent condition. I would not recommend this course after playing other similar priced courses in the area. Much of the grass is just painted green.
In town visiting some friends had plans to golf. Wanted to check out McCormick Ranch as I read some reviews online praising the course. Not a single review I read matched up. The two gentlemen in the Pro Shop were nice and friendly. The course ranger/marshal was friendly too, but even when he stopped to talk to us was mentioning the course was overpriced. That was about it for the positives. Played late afternoon to avoid the $200 price tag and the $79 I had to pay was $50 too much. Course conditions were absolutely terrible. Grass appeared painted was not well kept. The course was very muddy like it had been over watered. Front 9 the ground was so hard a shot would land short of the green by 10 yards or less and shoot 35-40 yards over the greens. Back 9 the ground was waterlogged and a shot would land short of the green and not move. There were several parts of the rough that looked as though the grounds crew cut 10 feet of grass lifted the blade on the mower left 10-15 feet of grass super thick and unkept and moved on to other sections. Very patchy, very poorly maintained. It is clearly evident that the high reviews I have been reading are local members who get the annual member pass to play the local courses for lower rates is what are keeping these reviews very high. Extremely disappointed in the the course. Don't have high expectations for this course if you intend to play, you're likely wasting your time and money.
Great course with beautiful views!
