I was expecting Mexican food. It was more of a fusion type food.

Let's start out by saying, What Mexican restaurant doesn't give you complimentary chips and salsa? Next, What Mexican restaurant makes you choose between rice OR beans. Come on...
I ordered 2 tacos and a cheese enchilada a la carte. The portions are very small and none of the items I received were any better than lukewarm. I tasted my husband's black beans and I'm pretty sure they were right out of a can. Save your time and money on this one. There are plenty of great Mexican restaurants around. This is not one of them.

We feel ridiculously lucky that Mochilero has opened this location and we can *walk* here! It is even better than we could have hoped for. We have been going often for over a year now. The menu reflects a cuisine that is actually Mexican and authentic. You can tell that they put a lot of time into every component of each dish. After enjoying over half of the menu, I can confidently say, it is our favorite restaurant. We have introduced many people to the wonders of Mochilero and they never miss an opportunity to return.
The tortillas are made with blue masa and are so delicious, I wonder what magic they are adding! The salsa trio is a must try (especially if you love spicy). Their margaritas are the perfect way to showcase tequila: a little salty, great acidity, not too sweet. Every taco is delicious. EVERY TACO. Their huevos rancheros with red OR green sauce: spectacular. The refried beans or black beans? Both superb. The plantain chips with guacamole? So good they should be illegal. Go for dinner or brunch, you won’t be disappointed.
It is not cheap pseudo Mexican food.
It is a nice, beautiful, authentic, must-return-back-to-try-more Mexican restaurant.

This spot offers a refreshing take on Mexican cuisine, blending traditional flavors with a light, modern twist. I had the chance to speak with one of the owners, who shared how his travels across various countries inspired and enriched his already deep understanding of the food. That global influence really comes through in the dishes—they're creative, vibrant, and full of personality. On top of that, the staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel warm and inviting from the moment you walk in.

The Happy Hour is from 2:30pm to 5pm. Awesome beer and Jalapeño margaritas. The food is very authentic (from scratch). Best Mole Enchiladas, the experience of these enchiladas is like being in Oaxaca (without having to travel there). The rice and beans were so delicious! I have to give kudos to the owners of this place! 5 starts well deserved!

Been in the past and had great food, albeit a tad salty.
Today I ordered take out.
Portions where very scimpy, everything was ice cold, had zero seasoning. And greasy beyond belief. The plantain chips where cooked in stale oil. As was the fish, and the carne asada, and chicken tinga where dripping in oil. Every bite was sploosh, and then splat all over our hands and clothes. I doubt we will be back, rather make my own homemade Mexican food, at least I know my quality as I am very particular in what I purchase. I am all for supporting local but when the cost of everything has risen to pay a premium and get subpar food is a no go for me.

Love this place! I always have the best time here—especially during happy hour. The margaritas are top-tier and the food never disappoints. Everything is super clean and clearly well-managed. Shoutout to the bartender Katie—she’s a gem! So friendly, helpful, and made great recommendations. The vibe works perfectly whether you’re out with friends or just grabbing a solo drink. Highly recommend!
