We celebrated my Mom's 86th Birthday on the patio, and it was heavenly. Their asparagus soup and signature buns with butter were outstanding. A fabulous dining experience that was relaxing and celebratory!
Our waiter Chris was very attentive. Restaurant was what I'd call upscale pool restaurant. Prices typical for resorts in general. Food was very good and above the typical fare. Very satisfying portions.
Ordered my steak rare, but it came out medium well. My friend's salmon was also over cooked. Our server was friendly and eager to please, but poorly trained. We were a party of six in active conversation, but he kept inserting himself into our conversation by peppering us with questions. At 9:22, the lights in the restaurant turned to bright. I looked around and saw that we were the only guests remaining. It seemed like they had turned up the lights to get us to leave. I was livid and expressed my displeasure to our server. The lights were turned down. The manager appeared to apologize and explain that there was a timer that automatically turned the lights up. Huh?! So every night at 9:22 the lights turn bright? I didn't believe him and made that clear to him. He seemed annoyed with me. I spent $1400 and this is the Phoenician, but it felt like Applebee's quality. I dine out a lot, but I won't be back to Mowry and Cotton. Go to Tarbell's instead.
Staff was great, super nice and sat us early! Food was good, abit dry but plated very nicely. The lighting is beautiful and was pretty quiet and a pleasant experience. Will definitely be back if we stay at the Phoenician again!
We stayed at the resort. Had birthday reservations and requested to sit inside. When they sat us they tried to sit us outside and we mentioned we wanted to be inside. Our reservation was at 7. They had already cleaned inside and didn't want to dirty a table but they accommodated us nonetheless. Wish they wouldn't have. They ignored us, sat us by a loud cash register and talked behind us about personal issues. They also opened to the doors to be cute. As if to say, you're technically inside. Is a person no longer allowed to request a table if it's hot outside? So disappointed and underwhelmed. Not much to choose for a pescatarian either. Not impressed for the amount we spent and didn't appreciate feeling unwelcome by the staff.
Relaxed, pretty restaurant with nice al fresco seating —best for ambiance. Food was not bad but a little slow coming out of the kitchen. Servers were friendly but forgot some of our courses—and removed these items from our bill without question at the end of the meal when they realized the courses never came. Pretty ambiance overlooking pool and nice nearby green lawns for kids to mingle and play with other kids. Cocktails could be better put together for those who love cocktails but otherwise an Easy evening!
I recently revisited Mowry & Cotton after having a great experience there for brunch a few years ago. Unfortunately, this time around, it was a disappointing visit that didn’t live up to my prior expectations.
The most noticeable difference was in the food quality, which seemed to have dropped significantly while the prices have surged. For three people, we ordered three drinks, three mains, and one appetizer, and the bill came out to a steep $200. For the price, we expected much more in terms of both flavor and presentation.
For the appetizer, we tried the tomato flatbread, which was forgettable and lacked any real punch. As for the mains, we had the tacos, croque madame, and ahi tuna bowl. The barbacoa in the tacos was the only highlight—tender and flavorful—but the rest of the dish, like the other mains, felt bland and uninspired.
The service didn’t redeem the experience either. Our server was distant and somewhat curt, making the overall atmosphere less enjoyable. While not outright rude, their standoffishness added to the sense that the restaurant has lost the charm it once had.
In the end, Mowry & Cotton felt like an overpriced and underwhelming dining experience. With a bill that high, I was hoping for something memorable, but instead, it felt like a letdown. I give it a 4/10 and probably won’t be returning anytime soon.

I have had better experience here before. This time around, I had breakfast on Tuesday and Wednesday morning and came away displeased.
Aside from nuances and subtlety of what is expected in a 5-star hotel restaurant, they also came up short on the basics.
On Tuesday, I told the team upfront that we only had an hour, and reminded them a few times after. We tried to order as quickly as we could with a large party (of 11 or so), but the breakfast didnt arrive until it was almost time to leave. It was a business dinner and our clients were going into a meeting right after. They had to run with their breakfast, which I am sure they could not consume as they were back to back. The time between ordering and getting our food out was very long and you could feel it.
Next day, it was just the three of us, and this time also I mentioned to the staff a few times that we only had an hour. Luckily the food arrived before it was time to leave, but again, between ordering and food being served, you could sense that it was an extraordinary period of time. Something you could just sense when food arrives late at a restaurant, I am sure we all know what that feels like.
Both days, the restaurant was empty so it’s not that the team was getting pulled into multiple tables. However, there was a conference and several events on the hotel property so am not sure if that was causing the delays.
Think it could have been better handled though.

I recently had Sunday lunch at Mowry and Cotton at The Phoenician, and while the resort itself is beautiful, the dining experience was just okay. I ordered the salmon salad, but it was smaller than expected and pretty bland. The salmon was cold, lacked seasoning, and the portion size was underwhelming.
The highlight of the meal was the wild mushroom flatbread and potato chips, which were both delicious. However, when I ordered an iced latte, the server brought me a cappuccino instead. It wasn’t a big deal, and I didn’t complain, but given the price point, I expected better attention to detail and service.
Overall, while the setting was lovely, we were disappointed with the lunch, especially the salad. For a restaurant in such a renowned resort, I was hoping for a more memorable meal.

We had dinner there on a Saturday night and brought our 5 year old son. There was another couple there sitting next to us with a young child as well. The kids menu was good and our son liked the food. The service was great. Our waitress was on top of things. I had the halibut (fish of the day) and it was really good. The side of heirloom carrots were really tasty too. We also shared the sausage flatbread and it was pretty good. The drinks were a little pricey but we expected that at the Phoenician. The ambience is great and they really make the place look lit up and classy. We will be going back soon but for a date night next time.

The food was great and so was the service. The breakfast had quite a bit of variety and the French toast was very large. The dinner sides are large enough to share for 2 people and the Salmon was great! I would not recommend the chocolate cake.

Was very impressed with the food and their three course special was very reasonable. If you go, be sure to have their buttermilk buns. They were soft and accompanied by a number of delectable spreads.

Dined here twice for breakfast since we had free breakfast (up to $80) as our perk, just had to be here before 11am. Both times, we (party of 3) were seated right away.
Food was delicious—downside is that the menu doesn’t change, so it was the exact same menu as the day before. HIGHLY RECOMMEND the Breakfast B.L.T., Avocado Toast and Huevos Rancheros! The Smoked Salmon & Bagel was great too. All delicious and tasty, and the portions are generous.
During our first visit, our lady server wasn’t the friendliest which left a bit of a sour experience. On our second visit, the next day, we got Christine who was beyond AMAZING!! Super friendly and attentive—Christine even went out of her way to get us Pina Coladas by the pool since the restaurant bar didn’t make them—truly grateful for her kind gesture. I would definitely request for her!

What a great experience we had here because of Christine!!! She was so welcoming, accommodating and absolutely awesome! Little to no wait with warm greetings from hostess and staff.
The breakfast here is absolutely yummy. Breakfast food was well seasoned; the only complaint was that their menu does not change, we had the same menu options back to back. It would be nice to gave daily specials that varies from the staples.

They offered (Website) Brunch. Actually there was no Brunch but a regular Menue. The service was bad - for half an hour the remaining food on next table was welcomed by a bunch of nasty, loud and disturbing birds. So - for a 5 Starhotel it was over all disappointing.
