Food was all very good. Happy hour prices made it reasonable. Service was good, but sorry that mandatory tip for party of 6 is necessary. Very noisy, we asked to be moved & were reluctantly accommodated. Overall great food, good service & glad we're able to reserve.

So the restaurant is cool looking and the staff was fairly friendly and we tried to order an array of different things and nothing was good. Well, the hamachi crudo was good, but it's good everywhere. Calamari was ok but the dipping sauce was plain and boring. Everything else was weird combinations of flavors that didn't work together. The spam bao was not fried enough and didn't go with kimchi, pork belly was overfried and dried out, the crispy rice tuna was just lacking flavor, the wings were over sauced, the edemame was over steamed and the original ramen tasted like moss and dirty mushrooms. And salt. I guess if you are a big fan of umami flavors, maybe you'll like this place, but it was not for us. We found everything lacking in heat...if we had just brought our Momofuku chili crunch, maybe this meal could have been saved.

The restaurant is really nice, great atmosphere. I tried the Bao bans and they were good. Nigiri, sashimi as well very good. Then i tried a sushi that had a weird combination that i did not like: tempura roll, with tuna, avocado and pesto on top.We had to ask for been moved in a different table cause we were placed close to the door, and it was too cold to eat in that way.

We had Jesus as a waiter. He forgot everything. From drinks to meals to appetizers. Asked for ginger and wasabi, which normally comes out with sushi….never brought it after two requests. Never put in for two entrees in a party or 6. Had to take those to go. Never brought out 2 drink orders. Never was around. The kicker, he still got 20% gratuity that was forced on the bill. He got paid to do nothing.Also the inside was a ghost town but told we had to sit outside since no reservation. Very strange place based on all this. The food that did come out was good. But man what horrible service and atmosphere. Go elsewhere.I think my only other review is of a physical therapy place saying 5 stars years ago. So this 2/5 is saying something.

Obon has become a main staple in our restaurant rotation and, frankly, I'm astounded at the low rating on Google. In a city that struggles in the restaurant/food department, Obon is always a reliable go-to with excellent, delightful, well-executed dishes. The Fukushu Roll, Yuzu Yellowtail appetizer, and Obon Ramen really knock it out of the park; their cocktails are a treat across the board to boot. We love the servers, manager, bartenders, and greeters too - many have been on staff for months to years and it's always nice to see the friendly faces. Keep doing what you're doing, Obon! So much yum and always a wonderful experience.

Very poor service. Server did not receive adequate assistance for large topped table. Waited over 30 minutes to pay. Not to mention 7$ gets you 1 very small Bow
Food was tasty and generous. Cocktail- black tea old fashioned- was inventive and delicious. Service was just passable. Overall, I'd rate it higher if the prices had been $2-$4.00 less per item.

I cannot recommend this place enough! There was one point where I was in here 3-4 times a week because of how much I craved it! My favorite has to be the kanto beef and the obon ramen! They're both extremely flavorful and compliment each other well.The atmosphere of this place is very light, open, and relaxed in the day and more upbeat at night. The servers are always extremely attentive, fun, and personable which is just the cherry on top! They always make the best food recommendations and are quick with service!

Obon was incredible. We went to celebrate our engagement. Hannah was our server and was wonderful. She was kind attentive and helpful. The food was delicious! Some of the best sashimi I've had and the ramen was amazing. They even brought us over some celebratory rose for our special occasion. We can't wait to go back
