It has been a few (7) years since I had Rudy's (ABQ). So, thought we'd try this local spot as we pretty much watched them build it. Went on Friday afternoon at 3 and was in/out in less than 15 minutes. Think half of that was taking in the sweet aroma of smoked meat. We picked up a lb. of smoked Turkey Breast, half of Chicken, and a pint of potato salad. Both the chicken and turkey were tender , juicy, and nicely smoked. The potato salad was quite good. (I like to add smoked Serrano chili powder to give it a kick) The location is good and provides easy access on/off the 101 and near shopping.

We had a mix up on the kind of ribs I ordered and the kind that were packaged for me. I brought my online receipt to the restaurant and they gladly refunded me by giving me the proper order , no questions asked. A big shout out to Tina and Halie who helped make it right. Both the food and service has been spectacular at Rudy's in North Scottsdale!

Don't know what's gone wrong here with this Rudy's location. The brisket is absolutely terrible. Salty and smokey tasting, it's like chewing on a burnt stick. I have eaten at Rudy's locations all over Texas and it has always been great. I even hear that the one in Chandler is really good. Judging by the number of these places now in the Phoenix area, they are probably being franchised like crazy. Therefore, there may be a lack of quality control, or perhaps the supply of beef in Arizona is far inferior to that of Texas.

I ordered the Brisket sandwich without the bread. The 1/3 lean serving. This brisket tasted so horrible. It was the most horrible brisket I've ever tasted in my life. It has this chemical taste to it. That smoke just stays on your tongue. It is horrible. Plus girl at the cashier was not friendly.Plus they have no cornbread. I don't recommend going here.I've eaten briske in Dallas, TX and here in Scottsdale at Whole Foods store. Whole Foods Brisket is way better. The Brisket at Whole foods store on Mayo boulevard in Scottsdale does not have that smoke chemical taste. I am going back Whole Foods Brisket. It was much better.

The staff was kind. I ordered a brisket sandwich. Out came the wonder bread buns, 1st downfall. Maybe a some lettuce, tomato, anything. NOTHING. The brisket was dry. I have had better meals at circle K. Never ever again. It was just horrid. I give them 6 more months until they close.

Baby back ribs were good but they are dry and need a sauce. Cole slaw is good but not made with mayonnaise for those who like coleslaw without mayo. Purchased banana pudding but would skip and try something else next time. Did take out and person serving asked about leaving a tip. I'm less likely to leave a tip for take out food. Don't like to be asked about a tip. This is a maybe return for me.

I was excited to see a new BBQ place near my work. Rudy's is a great spot to fulfill that itch. There were plenty of menu options. I went with the brisket sandwich and it was dry. The bun fell apart on me, after I put sauce on it. The sauce was great btw. The restaurant was very nice on the inside and had tons of drink choices. Being from the south I had to have the sweet tea which was some of the best I have had in AZ. I also got the beans which were very good. They had a great Smokey flavor and were not too sweet. Lastly I had to get some banana pudding and that was great too! This is a nice spot to stop for lunch and I will be back, but I will probably try a different meat.

Ribs and chicken rub was too spicy. Coleslaw too sweet and no flavor. Chicken overcooked.
