Went in for a 12 oz. bottle of Texas Pete. Price before tax was $7.49. OUTRAGEOUS. In no world does a small bottle of hot sauce needs to be this expensive. This price was 2-3 times higher than Safeway's competitors. This is corporate greed and insane markups at its finest. Safeway lost me as a customer for life. I will go out of my way to go to another grocery store that doesn't gouge their customers.

Seems there may be some disgruntled former employees in the reviews.. The store is remodeled and looks great. It's always full and clean. Starbucks is always in pristine condition and the lobby makes for a kick back environment to get some work done. I have met the store director Eric He's always friendly with me and all the other customers throughout the store. I've heard from more than one person that he's great to work with.

Be aware - there’s discriminative staff members here. Absolutely unacceptable staff experience. I was purchasing groceries & had a very unprofessional encounter with a staff member who felt that I was stealing. I couldn’t shop in peace & felt that I was heavily discriminated against. I’ve been coming to this Safeway for more than a decade & to be made to feel this way after being so loyal to the company is INCREDIBLY frustrating. I hope to get into contact with the store or district manager about this issue.

That's my Mom's painting, scanned and printed, wrapped around the tower and blended with icing. Brenda did an amazing job and my Mother loved it ??✨️

Their DELI section is bad , very bad they never had enough FRIED CHICKEN ready they will tell you we will cook some more and yet when you get back there’s always reasons /excuses which are very lame at 5pm really? In the height of dinner time ????? This store on Chaparral Road is on the list of Safeway stores to be sold off to C&S Wholesale Grocers out of Keene, New Hampshire, so that Kroger can merge with Albertson's (if the merger goes through). Interesting that Kroger would retain "some" Safeway stores but NOT this one. The last time I went into this store to get one item because Chaparral Road is blocked to head East, I was charged $5.49 for a very small container of potato salad. Just barely enough for three people. Prices here used to be reasonable, now they are outrageous. And the store STILL stocks food items directly on the floor! I don't want to buy anything that was sitting directly on the floor, even if it was a box of soda or beer. No thank you.
If this Safeway store, 7920 E Chaparral Rd Scottsdale AZ, was in the Olympics for over charging the customers, it would be the Gold Medal Winner every time, and it would win the Silver for unappreciative unfriendly cashiers.

We just wanted to warn our neighbors. We cringe when we see our neighbors with a full grocery cart, who just blindly whip out their credit cards.
Check your receipts when you get home!!! You will be shocked to see how much you were over charged. The customer service counter associates are great. Just show them your receipt.
We are not going back to this location, so no need for further contact.

eric hernandez is the worst store director ever, only cares about himself and being the best yet his tactics fail to do that, disrespectful to employees, doesn’t listen to anyone, if you are looking for a first job DO NOT START HERE, albertsons is better, if only 0 stars was an option, store 1491 is not even a 1 star
