My boyfriend and I had the pleasure of dining at Sel last night. We were recommended by a coworker and wow did this place take care of us! The food was unique, delicious, and beautifully plated. Working in the restaurant industry ourselves we hold high standards to what impresses us in hospitality. Our server Luciano was warm and welcoming, the Bartender/Somm Josh helped us pick out the perfect bottle of wine to accompany our meal. The two desserts we tried were phenomenal. A Marizpan strawberry shortcake and a flourless tiramisu. Must try if you go!!

Overall 10/10 experience. The inside is intimate and romantic, definitely perfect for a date night. We will be back!

Went for restaurant week and my birthday. It was a wonderful evening! First time there. The atomosphere was elegant but not snooty. The wait staff was friendly, attentive and accommodating. The food was unbelievable! Delicious, amazing presentations, wonderful flavors and not ordinary!

Absolutely Fantastic! Phenomenal food options and an extensive but stated wine and cocktail selection. Left completely satisfied and was offered an umbrella by the owner to get a dry five minute walk back to our Airbnb. Will certainly return!

I came to Sel for my birthday dinner and it was truly unforgettable. Every dish was outstanding — the 5 spice prawn, Korean steamed buns, lump crab, halibut, octopus, and of course the truffle fries were all perfectly prepared and full of flavor. The atmosphere and service made the evening even more special. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Phoenix!

This was our first time at Sel. We went to celebrate my wife's birthday. Upon making the reservation and noting that my wife tries to be as plant based as possible, I received a call the next day offering her a special vegan option tasting menu. She LOVED it! I ordered the garden tasting option and I too was thrilled about the food. Not only was the food and drinks top notch, the service was second to none! Every staff member we encountered made us feel very special. We will DEFINITELY be back!

I'll start with the good the food is AMAZING, I went and ordered the entire happy hour menu and it didn't disappoint. What you read in the description is what you actually taste The Wagyu Sliders and the Short Rib Bao's were 2 of my favorites. If you're not there for happy hour I'd definitely still order the warmed olives they are delicious

Now the restaurant seems kind confused because it is white tablecloth, price point is about $50 per entree and it's definitely elevated cuisine but the website says there's a dress code of Casual Elegance, 2 things I don't think even go together at all but I assumed it meant a little more formal then business casual so that's what I did. I, my party, and most other customers were dressed more formally then the hostess and the employee in the blue shirt sitting at the bar. The servers we're in all black so I don't remember if it was polos or button downs BUT I DIDN'T NOTICE which is the point because they blended in and met the expectation I thought the dress code was.

I'm not sure if they have AC if it's broken or they keep it really warm but I was sweating by the time I left and the servers were glistening,. Not an something I would expect at that price point.

At some point an employee showed up with their toddler who ran around the restaurant and made quite a bit of noise before they removed the child. At the price point and how the restaurant presents itself I wouldn't expect to see a child there let alone an employee bring one in.

The servers don't seem trained in finer dining there was reaching over my head across the table a couple times, the first cocktail which was the special of the night took 20 minutes to get to the table, just minor stuff. I've been to both Zuzu and The Ends nearby with similar price points and they were better experiences with also amazing food, I'm not a stranger to this level of dining, so it was just a little disjointed. Wasn't horrible but could be better or maybe it just needs to be tweaked or changed a little bit.

The food though is amazing so I would still recommend it, I would also just be aware of what the experience is like.

SEL is the perfect blend of elegance and comfort. It feels modern and elevated, yet welcoming—no pretension, just incredible food and service. Every dish is a journey, rich in global flavors. From smoked trout roe to oxtail with pickled kumquat and spring citrus, each course is a masterful balance of sweet, savory, and smoky.

The Five-Course Land Tasting is hands down one of the best options—decadent without being over-the-top, and surprisingly affordable compared to fine dining in cities like Vegas or New York.

Joel, our server, was phenomenal. His storytelling brought life to the dining experience—sharing memories from Mexico, New York, and Chicago that made us feel like we were traveling beyond the table. His passion and personality made the evening unforgettable.

Thank you to the chef, the owner, and especially Joel for such a memorable night. We’ll absolutely be back.

Love, Love, Love Sel💚 Their food is amazingly creative and heavenly, and their cocktails are excellent. Sel has become a monthly staple for our dining. While I’m not a wine drinker, my BF is and he loves their wide selection and pairing recommendations. The owners are local and very kind. The staff also provide an exceptional experience. If you’ve never been here, try their Chef’s Tasting menu so you can experience a really good variety of dishes. The Chef’s soups are unlike anything I’ve ever tasted; his cauliflower soup was creamy without being too rich. It didn’t really taste like cauliflower & it was so good I wanted more. The Thai basil crusted halibut is excellent as are the Korean short rib steam buns and jumbo lump crab cakes. For dessert, tiramisu is the way to go. Not like a traditional, much better, creamier. When they offer the Sel burger, give it a go, hands down the best burger I’ve ever had. Make reservations as they tend to be busy. You won’t be disappointed.

Sel has Happy Hr now and the menu is a delicious selection. Service continues to be top notch!

Okay, our reservation was an hour+ late. Josh, the bartender, offered free drinks and a couple of appetizers on the house. The “bartender take the wheel”did not disappoint! Great creativity mixing 2 different drinks with distinct off the menu flavors. The Parmesan Fries followed by the Olives was a nice gesture. THEN, they gave us fresh baked sourdough bread (in house) and a wild caught jumbo lump crab that KNOCKED us out!

The kitchen got over extended…not a Gordon Ramsey moment, yet it was worth the wait. The co-owner, as husband and wife, came out and apologized for our wait time.

We started with the braised beef, scallops with foiegras. Then we shared 2 main: salmon and duck confit. Top notch! Both presentations were superbly plated and everything was cooked to order.

Coming from Los Angeles, we are used to waiting to discover something special, but usually requiring a Canadian Goose jacket due to the frosty customer service. Well, at SEL, we were more than delighted by the staff’s consistency, passion to serve, and willingness to make our night special.

We rarely give “5 stars”, yet tonight was a great experience for a small 20 table setting. Being in business for nine years is a testament to consistency and understanding the customer. Bravo to this family owned business!

Fantastic food, some of the best in the valley.

First and foremost: The waitperson Luciano was exceptional. He is attentive, knowledgeable and gave great recommendations.
For that alone I would return. Give him a raise!!

The food was delicious and the flourless chocolate tiramisu with hazelnut praline, Argentinian salted caramel gelato was out of this world.

Do yourself a favor and go to Sel Restaurant.

Unfortunately this place missed the mark. There was effort but it did not meet anywhere near the expectations of fine dining.
Food - All dishes were over salted. The dishes were not refined as expected. We left most of the food on the plate
Service - Service was kind, however, there was a lack of attentiveness. Dishes left on the table & empty glasses.
Atmosphere - It felt clean but quickly put together with no real elegant touches.

First time in. WOW! It was amazing. Beautiful spot with a great patio. Had Scallop Crudo, Foie Gras, Octopus and Strawberry-Marzipan Shortbread. All beautifully plated and delicious! Nice bar and excellent wine program; I had an excellent glass of Grand Cru Riesling from Alsace France. Service was excellent; professional and friendly. Owner May even stopped by. Impressive! Can't wait to visit next time in AZ!
