This used to be a very charming and fairly authentic English pub with wonderful food and a great vibe. Several years ago they renovated for the worse and added cheap tables and chairs, bright lighting and got rid of any type of English accents the place might have formerly had. Last night a large group of us went To enjoy English food which fairly baffled both the staff and the kitchen. Even though the menu has English food on it, it was pretty inauthentic and some dishes came out completely completely wrong. One server was new and was terrible at answering menu questions said she'd only been there for a couple of weeks but I figure a couple of weeks gives you a pretty good idea of what you're supposed to be serving. The other server was downright surely and inA very bad mood. Going so far as to even mutter insults as she left our table. It's basically just a bed mall Fast food joint now with a whole bunch of T v's that are very very loud. Nothing special to see here

Had a craving for fish and chips so my sister and I decided to check this place out. I used to be a regular at Skeptical Chymist. I can't believe how different and "sterile" they made it in there! It's nothing like a pub, it's more like every other meh modern strip mall sportsbar. Sad. I can't rate them on anything other than service, unfortunately, because apparently no one works there. We came in, asked who I assume was the bartender if it was open seating (empty restaurant at lunch time), sat at a bar table and then proceeded to be ignored for 10 minutes before we walked out. Never again. I give this place 6 months, tops.

Good food and service. They have typical British fare, and also some American classics.I ordered the chicken curry- it was OK but the chicken did not taste fresh. The chips were pretty good- although I think I expected more of a scratch-kitchen approach to the whole menu.We might be back!

Another big soccer game, another big fail by Union Jack. Today for the first full day of World Cup action, the kitchen staff failed to show up on time for breakfast. I left hungry after the England game Then for lunch (I came back for the USA game), I was forced to stand at the bar for 15 minutes to order food, because the poor guy behind the bar had no help, and there was no wait staff on the patio. Why is it that every big game, this place fails to properly staff?UPDATE: We finally got our food about 50 minutes after we ordered it. My fish and chips were soggy, and not great. My friend told me he got sick and ended up throwing up his BLT sandwich.

My wife is an expat. This restaurant really hits the spot when she is feeling homesick. We love the food, beer, and drinks. They recently changed the curry recipe (in my photos), I think it's better, but my wife misses the old recipe which seemed more traditional.

This restaurant has the best wings and curry fries. I definitely recommend this place. The staff is so nice and love having a conversation with you. Its a Seahawks bar but I won't hold it against them.

Had 7 complaints, not going to list them all but here are the main ones.Chips were soggy IE warmed up, and tasteless coleslaw, the waitress went back and forth telling me that food and drinks were not available, IE 2 meals on the menu, and 3 different draft drinks. What no Curry Dishes - What the hell!!The only good things were the staff shirts - But they don't sell them : ( and lastly the union jack couch at the entrance.

Nice facility. Great food and beverage menus and our server, Brett, was excellent. The items that had to be cooked fresh were fine: onion rings, hamburger and the fish portion of fish and chips. The chips were undercooked. Mushy peas were cool and congealed. Toad in the hole was dry and required a request for additional gravy that still couldn't moisten things up. A new Union Jack has opened in Tucson where I live, but hesitant to go after the meal in Scottsdale.

Had my Dad in town from London, so as we were in Scottsdale we decided to try out the British pub. Sorely disappointed with the lack of knowledge from the bar tender/waitress about the alcohol percentages and these aren’t even on the menu. Waitresses very dismissive and generally moody. This isn’t how a British pub is run in the UK. Very disappointed and won’t be going back. Very few European beers and 1 British beer! By having a few flags up and serving Heinz beans doesn’t make this British. This could of been such a great place. Please sort your staff out.

Our hostess was fabulous. But the place is far from a British pub. I don’t feel the warmth of a pub as I know it being a Brit. Games room with real dart boards etc would utilize the dead space. Unfortunately the location of this establishment hurts too. Perhaps a big round table or crescent shape table would be great for a big party too as we were a few weeks ago group of 14 but we had a rectangle table and we could not converse as normal. Hope it all works out for you guys.

I've never given a restaurant 1 star before and I'm a little sad to give one now. This was a Monday night dinner with this very long timeline:- Seated at 6:30pm (table of 5)- Received drinks at 6:45pm- Took order at 7:15pm- Received food at 7:55pmOur server was nice but there were 2 servers for a very large restaurant that includes outdoor seating and a bar (there was no bartender). When we finally received our meal, the food was mostly awful especially for how much we paid:- $15 Toad in Hole - Yorkshire pudding was completely flat (looked like an overcooked omelette), the sausage was cold, and everything was bland- $7 children's menu mac n cheese - it was 100% boxed Kraft mac n cheese for $7- $9 sausage roll - this was acceptable but still pretty bland- Some other items not worth mentioningThis was possibly the worst eating experience I've had at a sit-down restaurant in 8 years in Phoenix metro.

Decided to try the Union Jack, the British style pub and was surprised how much we enjoyed the food. This was a Saturday late afternoon and the place was noisy with people watching their sports teams, it's a little echoey inside but a lively atmosphere. They have a decent amount of beers and cocktails to choose from but I was surprised to se a Scotch Egg on the menu as a appetizer, and it didn't disappoint. Now if your a Reuben sandwich lover, you have to order the Corned Beef Sandwich it's a classic Reuben complete with marble bread and probably the best I've had since moving out here nearly 30 years ago. Definitely worth the visit.

As a true born and raised Londoner, I have to state, that The Union Jack is not even the slightest bit British. About the only thing British is a few Union Jack flags and some football (soccer) jerseys along with a fake looking telephone box. This is 98% an American sports bar. As for the food...some of the worst, flavorless I have had in quite some time. The fish & chips, mushy peas, cole slaw and everything else our party ordered had ZERO flavor. It's too bad as we we're all looking forward to a taste of home. Better choices are Tim Finnegan's in Glendale and Rosie McCaffrey's in Phoenix. They maybe "Irish", but so much better atmosphere and food.

Went here yesterday specifically for fish and chips. Brett was our server and he made our experience great. Very sweet and funny!! Fish and chips were good and not greasy. My brother in law had salmon and he said it was yummy. Don't be scared if it is empty. They get crowded on weekends and for sports.
