We were looking forward to a great meal but unfortunately this place uses Way Too Much oil! Our food was swimming in it. We couldn’t eat it. They also gave us the wrong dish. Ordered a gf primavera and instead got a pesto dish which we couldn’t eat either. Ugh.

The food came out veey fast and the service was amazing with our waiter Devin. But the food was super bland, it had some hard bits in it and even the water tasted like tap. Youd think with a place that only has wine and water that the water would be filtered (not to sound snobby). The women also dressed very, ummm they loved to show skin. The managers were dress proper and nice the but the other women I felt like I was getting bartended on valentines day. The atmosphere was mediocre, nice art but the tables slide all over the floor and it just looks cheap overall. Definitely not worth a reservation and Definitely not worth $25 per dish.

Great food and service! Big portions and good prices. We had Bruschetta, a bottle of wine and 2 entrees (Mahi Fra Diavolo and Rigatoni ala Vodka). Highly recommend!

Our first visit to Sophia's Kitchen began with a prompt greeting from a polite and professional counter staff. We had a reservation for the patio and were moved through the restaurant toward our table without delay.
The interior presents well with an attractive wine display at the entrance. On a Friday evening, the bar area was lively due to happy hour, while the main dining room sat at roughly half capacity. Our table was located in the converted corridor patio. This area felt drafty and offered a view of an adjacent gym, which meant watching people lift weights and stretch throughout the meal.
The menu consists of traditional Italian offerings. I found it disappointing when our server suggested the short ribs as the best dish rather than endorsing the house-made pasta. I ordered the linguini and clams after being told the dish contained no shells. It arrived with many baby clams still in their shells, which would have led me to choose the ravioli instead. The gnocchi and cod were prepared well, but the calamari was standard battered and fried fare that I would skip in the future. The Insalata Caprese was a letdown, featuring light pink tomatoes reminiscent of a fast food hamburger.
Initial service was prompt, but the experience declined rapidly. The waiter remained absent for most of the evening, leading to significant gaps between drinks, appetizers, and the main course. We spent more time waiting than dining. After we requested the check from the manager, the waiter appeared quickly with the handheld card reader. The tip was adjusted to reflect this lack of attention.
There are dozens of Italian restaurants in the Scottsdale area. While the bar seating might offer a better atmosphere and more attentive service, this experience makes it easy to consider other options.

Excellent restaurant. Great atmosphere, service, and food. The bruschetta and rigatoni alla vodka is always my favorite dishes to get. With that being said, I’ve never had a bad dish here!! Highly recommend.

I walked in and was greeted by three people all ready to take care of me w/ smiles! The waitress brought me a huge cylinder of filtered water. The personal is like more than a personal pizza(15inches)!
I have food allergies, very professional, my pizza was done within 6-10 minutes. I’m a very picky pizza person and there three other places in the Phoenix surrounding that I go to. This will be the fourth place for Italian, I look forward to trying their other dishes as well. The pizza its self has a wonderful flavor, the spices are delicious, and over all it’s cooked to perfection! My only suggestion is a tad more sauce as I like it to cover, but otherwise 9.5/10 (simple this to correct).
I almost got their flatbread, BUT was told no matter what you have is that it is phenomenal & I believe it!
The atmosphere is as expected for DC Ranch area. The prices are affordable for the lunch menu, night time prices still within affordability. The overall experience is above and beyond; I’m hearing impaired. I was still able to hear my server. That is a plus! Will come back!!
