My friend and I was visiting Old Town Scottsdale from Atlanta when we were walking down the street and noticed the Sugar Bowl. I love candy, cookies, cake and especially ice cream so I had to stop by once we were finished eating dinner. I had the pleasure of meeting Ricky who has worked there for the last 39 years. Ricky is handsome, funny and a joy to talk to. He gave us a little history about the ice cream shop and made me the best ice cream sundae I have ever had. It reminded me of the good old days. The experience was the best and I am grateful that I had the opportunity to meet such a wonderful person. Please give Ricky a raise, a paid vacation or something special. He deserves it.

I've been going to the Sugar Bowl since I was probably 4 years old. The ice cream and desserts are excellent, and the food and staff are, as well! In the heart of Old Town ScottsdaIe. You can't beat the location!
This was my first time coming in there. I was hoping to be a good experience but it was terrible customer service. I came in with my family at 8:30pm and sat at a table. My wife ordered ice cream and then I went to order and asked what the waitress about her best selections, the waitress then gave her selection and I said hmm and she just walked away without saying anything. I then called for her to come back and she did and said I’m ready to order? She said oh okay. I never in my life had I ever had a waitress just leave in the middle of my ordering. I had a conversation with the manager who apologized but at that point I was completely turned off. So if your waitress has red hair and on the younger side, stay away. She’ll walk away when you’re trying to order.

Step back into a 50s restaurant the Pink Ladies would be proud of. Counter service was great and fast. The brownie sundae was more sugar than I should’ve ingested, but it was delicious.
