Service was terrible, and everything took forever. We waiting a long time for everything including water. Probably won't ever return. There's way better places in Scottsdale
Great food and even better service. Shoutout to Eric !

Atmosphere, food, and drinks were excellent. Recommend the Chilean Sea Bass, avocado fried rice, yellowfin tuna, and the spicy peach margarita.
The food was good and I love the concept to be honest - not the best by any means in terms of Asian or Mexican food but because it’s interesting I’m going to throw more points. We went on new years and had a lot of food so it was extra busy and honestly great vibes and service. I will say it is pretty expensive for what you get and I would say high 3 low 4 maybe for food taste/dishes. Hence the 4 stars and not 5 overall as I’m weighing that heavily. Still absolutely worth trying! Maybe better to go on a non-holiday - it gets packed!

Sumomaya was good, but I think the food could be a bit more elevated for the prices. The rainbow ceviche was an absolute standout! If you get anything there, I would highly recommend getting this. Additionally, the Korean beef tacos and bacon dates were delicious. We got a couple other dishes that were good but not stand-outs and the shishito peppers were a let down. Overall, the food is good and the service is well done; however, for the prices they are charging and small portions, I have quite high expectations that were not 100% met.

We just celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary here tonight. Every single item and drink water oerfeft and our server Haleigh was phenomenal. She was amazing wirh her attentiveness, conversational engagement and recommendations. Atmosphere was beautiful and every detail was on point. The tree in the center of thr dining room is enchanting. We will absolutely be back

SumoMaya is easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Scottsdale. The atmosphere is energetic and upscale, but still comfortable and inviting.
The sushi was fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented — definitely some of the best I’ve had in Arizona. The highlight of the night, though, was the A5 Wagyu. Perfectly prepared, rich, and buttery, it melted in my mouth and was worth every bite.
Service was spot-on the whole evening: attentive, fast, and very knowledgeable about the menu. Even though the restaurant was busy, everything came out perfectly timed.
If you’re looking for incredible food, especially sushi and Wagyu, paired with a great vibe, SumoMaya is a must-visit in Scottsdale.

We sat at the bar and had the most amazing service from Alex and Raina! The food was great, especially the pad Thai and wagu steak and eggs. Highly recommend sitting at the bar for a great experience.

The atmosphere and food would get better than 5 stars if it was available. What a fun and cute place to go out the eat in Scottsdale. We had the dragon roll and it was by far my favorite that I have ever had. Service was mixed. We were at the bar and our bartender(I think her name was court) she kept ignoring us and would leave the area often. I really was unhappy with her service. We will be back for sure may just not sit at the bar.

Wow, this place did not disappoint. I saw someone review from TikTok (@destinyliley) and this place did not disappoint....
Once we were seated, our server explained the process (because it was our first visit) and said he would bring out a few plates. He did an exceptional job, they were all sooo good. I had the waygu steak and and eggs as my main meal, but I was so full from the small plates (that were unlimited). He ended our service with mini churro con leche and liquid cheesecake. 10 out of 10 stars. The pomegranate guacamole was probably the best I've ever had and I've had a lot
-Guac and the best seasoned tostada (as the chips replacement), generously portioned
-rangoons
- egg roll
- sushi
-Pancake tacos
Then...
- Bravia papas
- bacon and eggs
- caramelized plantains
Yes more...
We had the waygu steak and eggs on cilantro rice and the Korean fried chicken sandwich as our mIn meal
Ended with our desserts, he recommended dipping our churro into the liquid cheesecake.
All mini, but unlimited..I went back for more sushi and Rangoons, but shouldn't have 🙈 All in all, awesome flavor profile, very fresh ingredients, and great service. We will be going back. Note that it is $45 s person so not for the faint of heart from a price perspective, but honestly worth every penny. The environment, food and drink quality was great.

Was in attendance for the brunch “extravaganza” where you pay $45 for unlimited “house”’drinks with barely any alcohol in them and unlimited mediocre appetizers with an ok entree. Our blue-eyed lackluster waitress was so uninterested in her job that her performance lowered the bar for the establishment. Kudos to her! She asked for any allergies just to ensure us that everything is cross-contaminated. Go figure! And don’t ever try to add a side of bacon to your meal, as the chefs wouldn’t dare make the food that you’re paying for to your liking…or as our dull, dry as dust, stiff, fatigued waitress would say, “our chef’s don’t engage in modifications.” The ambience was decent, and the overall experience was nothing to die for. Now let’s rate! Service 2/10, food 6/10, overall experience 4/10, no need to recommend. I’d rather explore the many other intriguing restaurants in Scottsdale that cater to their consumers, as we are the ones that have a choice to choose elsewhere and we, thankfully, have the ability to influence and impact businesses in a positive or negative fashion based upon experience.

This is one of my top 3 in greater Scottsdale. Great staff, good looking and helpful bartenders at a big square bar and AMAZING food at a reasonable price. See pics. Healthy, interesting, sushi-mex fusion.
Music was just right when I was there from 5-7 pm on a week night. Lots of tables, some bigger groups. Easy parking behind the address in small cluster of buildings. Highly recommend
