The experience is always a delight. One of my all time favorites in the greater Phoenix area. The food, presentation, service, atmosphere, and menu offerings are A1. Will be back again and again and..... you get the point 😋

My one complaint about SumoMaya is how dark it is in the restaurant after the sun goes down. It is minimally lit, especially in the bar area, which takes away from the holistic dining experience. Yes, the food tasted good, but I would've liked to be able to appreciate how it was plated and garnished. I literally could not see the food I was eating. The service was great, and the bartender with the spider tattoo was working HARD to keep the drinks moving. She deserves a raise and recognition for doing such a great job on a Saturday night.

Great food. Packed and noisy. Friendly staff. I didn't know what to expect when I heard this was Asian Mexican fusion. I wouldn't call it fusion, more like a mixed menu. Pricey for what you get. We spent nearly $500 on a party of 4. Very difficult to find non-valet parking. They blocked off all the parking for their valet.

SumoMaya offers great Mexican and Asian food. Our hostess was empathetic and kind when we did not like the table we were seated at. Our server was really friendly and thoughtful and made us feel special. There was a live DJ creating a cool, high energy vibe. Tables for two are few and all high tops, we may have been better off sitting at the bar. The Ceviches and Aguachile are excellent. Great cocktails and sake selection. The Octopus was over cooked to the point of being dry and a disappointment. Overall, a good experience and a restaurant we are likely to go back to!

As always, food was delicious, service spot on! Front desk, same too, not easy to like. Not friendly, we were 3 mins early for our reservation and they said we could wait or hunger a drink at the bar while we waited. We went to bar and just ate there. 3 minutes, REALLY???

Food decent but frustrated with seating. We were in town for a business meeting so booked a table for 6. When we arrived, they tried to seat 5 athletic size men and 1 woman in a tiny booth with a chair on the end. Stated this is our typical seating for 6. I don't think we would even fit let alone be able to move arms to eat. Moved us outside on the patio but added a fan. Very loud, hot, dark and place where servers would come for plates and utensils. Our server was excellent! Food was good but not great especially for the prices. Sea bass, kimchi rice and paella were the favorites. Inside the restaurant looked beautiful but we were not seated there.

I had a great experience here! The appetizer and taco were sooo good — full of flavor and perfectly done. Definitely the highlight of my meal! The sushi was okay, nothing special, but still fresh . Overall, the service was friendly, and the atmosphere was nice. I’d definitely come back for the tacos and appetizers alone and to try something new .

So many mouthwatering amazing fusion dishes! Do not pass up the Korean tacos, calamari with chimichurri dipping sauce, any sushi! They are all worth a trip to this restaurant! I've only been once and cannot wait to bring all my visitors here!

Very friendly staff. Great environment & great decor. The drinks were very good and ascetic ! Some of them light up & had glitter in them ! The food was delicious! Would highly recommend all the sushi rolls and the mains. They do have a bit of spice on a lot of their items but all of it was so good.
