Worst experience I've ever had. It was not my first time being here, although it was definitely my last. Food was not that great and service was even worse. The server barely had any interaction with our table and still at the end of dinner, after a $20 bill as tip (deserving $0) decided to go back to the table and asked us if we were conscious about the amount of money we left him as gratuity (several times). Saying "it was not enough" with an attitude. Never in my life before I've met such an ungrateful human being. The fact that we were being "nice" by even leaving a tip because it was not mandatory, and his service was not the greatest, on top of his attitude, I should've taken that tip back. This made mine and my friends' night the worst. Will never be back

If you're really into Spanish food, this restaurant definitely doesn't cover the concept. The croquettes are tasteless, the chorizo is horrible, the chickpea hummus is tasteless. In short, I don't recommend this place if you're looking for authentic Spanish food. Not good.

First time trying this restaurant for my fiancé’s birthday. Her grandmother is from Spain, she loves Spanish food and has always wanted to try the restaurant. She brought her mother, who also spent her younger years in Spain. The atmosphere is quaint. They had a Spanish dancer which was a nice touch, however, the music could have been not so loud.

The food overall was pretty good. All the tapas we had we very good. The entrees we had were excellent. The only thing we felt was sub-par was the paella, which don’t get me wrong, tasted good, but didn’t really taste like a paella.

It was pricey, as most tapas places are, but I would come back. The restaurant was very busy, on the weekend evening, but the server was good.

Food without any finesse. Chicken skewers drenched in chili sauce out of a bottle. Spinach pastry was tasteless. Every dish drenched with ubiquitous cream sauce. Not good food. Certainly not a good Spanish taste.

Tapas Papa Frita is hands down one of my all-time favorite restaurants in Scottsdale! I’ve been coming here for well over 10 years, and every visit reminds me why I love this place so much.

I used to live and work within walking distance, and this spot became a staple for me. The gambas al ajillo and jamón serrano are my go-to tapas—absolute perfection every time. The shrimp are garlicky, sizzling, and packed with flavor, while the jamón is rich, authentic, and always top quality. Whether you’re going for classic Spanish flavors or something new, you really can’t go wrong with anything on the menu.

Beyond the food, the atmosphere is unbeatable. The location is fantastic, the decor is warm and elegant, and the flamenco shows on certain nights make the experience even more special. The live music and dancing transport you straight to Spain, creating a one-of-a-kind ambiance that you just don’t find anywhere else.

If you’re looking for incredible Spanish food, a lively and intimate setting, and a place that truly delivers a memorable experience, Tapas Papa Frita is it. It’s been one of my favorite spots in Scottsdale for over a decade, and I know I’ll keep coming back for years to come! Highly, highly recommend!

The tapas are excellent, but the paella was not up to par, not very spicy, we felt very far from Spain.
The atmosphere is exceptional, dancers and singers the evening we were there.
The servers are not friendly, very casual.

We had an anniversary dinner here. It was well worth it, with great food, wine and Cuban music. The paella was really good!

Went late on Sunday. Nice Cuban band. Food was excellent as we had the bacon wrapped Dates, Lamb chops and the pastry with Leeks. The wines were nice with a large wine menu. Though late the waiter was helpful and very nice. Beautiful interior too.

Perfect Spanish dinner. Paella Valenciana, Arroz Negre, Escoces, etc. Matched it with Tempranillo. Great live music. Great service. Great outdoor setting and location. Great people. Just awesomeness!

This one of my wife and my favorite places. Always excellent food and service. The setting is fantastic right on the water and just at the edge of the hustle and bustle of Old Town Scottsdale. It’s difficult to pick a favorite. Sample a few things from the tapas menu and finish off with one other their paellas. Kevin and Travis were our servers recently and they are amazing.

I was excited to try Spanish food. The restaurant had a nice decor. The live band outside was very loud and even though we were the farthest table away on the inside of the restaurant, it was hard to have a conversation over the music. We all ordered individually, but the dishes came combined, like family style which seemed strange. Our waiter seemed like he would rather be somewhere else. When the food arrived, the servers had no idea who ordered what dish. There were few drink refills and we ended up getting up and getting our own water pitcher. One person did not receive all their food. The food was good. 3 plates were dropped near the counter behind us, only 2 shattered on the floor. The food was good but pricey for what you get, about $40 - $60 per person. Overall, this experience was not enjoyable for me.
