The Mexicano is a great choice if you are looking for a Mexican restaurant with an upscale “modern” yet casual vibe.We go there specifically for Happy Hour with our Taco Tuesday group of 12-16 people. We enjoy the restaurant and atmosphere. Margaritas are darn good as well. We try different restaurants each week and The Mexicano is one where we have gone back on several occasions.Prices at Happy Hour are reasonable. I would say that non-happy hour items verge on the expensive side and we would likely not go there for a straight up non-happy hour event.The Machete tacos are very large. Easily shareable by 4 people making them a reasonable choice. But we do not recommend the blue tortillas. Those are not so good.Love the Birria tacos. But they took them off the happy hour menu sometime ago and the normal prices are pretty pricy. But worth the splurge now and again. The hot bowls (Molcajete) are a big feed. So while they cost over $30 they are shareable if you get an appetizer.We put the Mexicano at a 4.5 rating. Love the atmosphere - and food is quite good. Prices can be a bit on the high side. But overall, it’s a location we will go back to for happy hour TT again and again.

I've been here a few times before as the food and service has been very good.Unfortunately, this time I brought out of town people here this past Monday, 29May24 and the dinner - 3 out of the 4 were served - cold. Service was wonderful, waitstaff was nice and only one dinner that was advised that was cold was reserved warm with apologies. Our two friends unfortunately did not say anything and ate their dinner that wasn't warmed as it should have been.It was a Monday night, not fully crowded and felt no restaurant should serve their wonderful food on the cold side....Someone should be checking... I was disappointed. Something must have changed in their process.

I went there last Saturday to have dinner with some friends. The service was great and the food was good. About 6:00, the music was turned up so loud it was impossible to talk to the person next to you. We even requested to have it turned down. It really ruined our evening. I guess it's a party place and not a place for conversations.

Went with 3 other people. I ordered the 3 carne asada tacos.Carne asada was cold to slightly warm when it came out. They come on corn tortillas. Those were not heated up properly as well. One other person has the tacos as well with the same experience.My wife like her albondigas soup.I left rather disappointed.Server was good. No issues there.They do play loud music. So be aware. Not my thing. However most people seemed to enjoy the experience. So no complaints there.My issue is I came for the food and the carne asada was not good.

First time and the experience at the door was very nice they sat me right next to the kitchen! But music was too loud and conversation was limited and the food was cold I was very disappointed ☹️ since it was my first time and sitting by the kitchen would have helped! The Service was very limited. I hope to give this place a 2nd opportunity!

The service from our waiter Eddie was excellent. The atmosphere was fun and inviting and the food was delicious.
Service was fine but the food wasn’t. The salmon taco tasted very fishy - not fresh. The Birria enchiladas were very dry. The Ensalada Fresca’s “seasonal fruit” was just chunks of watermelon and had nothing else but a few thin slices of cucumber and a few shreds of onion. On top of everything else, extremely loud music was blasting from speakers on the ceiling above the tables, making it impossible to hear the others at our table. Not recommended!

My wife and I went for an anniversary lunch and we're blown away.The Mole should be illegal and I never would have thought of Bao Buns for tacos. Don't like fish tacos, but I loved them here. Also not a fan of flan and theirs is to die for.Excellent food, probably the best we have ever had, and George was so friendly, attentive and funny. He even overheard us talking about our anniversary and made a big deal for us.Will go again and recommend this place to everyone.
