The Mission Kierland

We got seated at a very small table in the bar area in the back of the restaurant next to a big pillar. The place was very noisy, took forever for a server to wait on us. All the server wanted to do was push the most expensive items on the menu. When I asked if we were seated at such a poor table because we used Open Table to book or because we didn't look upscale enough the hostess denied it but offered no reason as to why were seated where we were. However the couple that got seated before us got an upstairs table and we were shown to the back of the restaurant. Food was okay but not good enough to overcome the other missteps. My advice go somewhere else. I know I'll not go back to this restaurant.

Love how beautiful this restaurant is aesthetically. The table side guac is a MUST!! We had the mahi mahi, short rib and jidori chicken w a few side dishes. Every bite is a fusion of flavors and depth. Also got the chocolate desert, can't remember the name but that was 11/10. Also cocktails didn't disappoint

A great evening at the Mission, starting with the hostess, Sydney, who secured us a lovely table on the outdoor 2nd floor patio, so we could get a beautiful view of the sunset. She also checked in on us a few times to ensure everything was going great. Our server, Xavier, was also delightful. He made great food suggestions and was responsive and proactive. Amazing service. The food was great with homemade guacolmole made to order right at our table. Prices are reasonable, especially for Kierland/Scottsdale.

My wife took me out for my Bday and we were pleased with everything from service to food! Ambiance was wonderful, whether you wanted a quiet area upstairs or more of a lively place on first floor. Food - homemade guacamole that was delicious, both had tacos (3/ea) that were seasoned so well! Pumpkin bread pudding was very tasty! It has been our 2nd time there and would go back again!

Dylan was friendly attentive and accommodating. But he spoke very loud. Just because we have grey hair does not mean we are hard of hearing. The kale salad, burrata salad, tecate battered mahi tacos and the tacate skirt steak tacos were all excellent. The tacos are tinier than street tacos. They are 3 to an order and very flavorful. Small but filling. Dined upstairs on patio.

What a great first experience. Hostess was super nice and greeted me right away. Server was top tier and we took his suggestion on the duck empanadas, guacamole, and snapper for main. Everything was exceptional. Super reasonably priced. Beautiful place and great service. Will be back.

My experience was great as a first time patron with Alex in the bar. She was amazing!

The only reason I did not give my overall experience five stars was because as we were sitting at the bar eating and drinking; we observed waiters using their “bare hands” to put lemons, orange peelings, limes, etc in customers drinks! This is UNSANITARY and so disgusting!!!! I have no idea where your hands have been!!!! I’m on the fence about going back…. They didn’t seem to care that customers sitting at the bar could observe this first hand. Thank you Alex for taking proper sanitary protocol with our food and especially our drinks. I urge management to provide proper training on this serious problem!

Makes you wonder if this is done openly in the bar, I can only imagine what’s taking place in the kitchen 🤮🥴🤢

One of my favorite places to bring people who visit town! I have had almost all of the tacos and can never pick which ones I want when I dine there. The sunday special with the all you can eat pulled pork tacos is such a good deal! Some of my other menu favorites are the table side guacamole and the street corn! The atmosphere is pretty lively with out being too loud! Great place for a group dinner or date night!

Top tier food and staff was professional and informative. Excellent portions for such high quality food as well. Most of the time expect smaller portions with such an up scale level of food. 10/10 would recommend and hope to go back next time in Arizona. Only complaint was not being able to try more dishes.

I was here a while ago for a work event. I ate here twice within 6 days, for good reason! I had the Chorizo Porchetta the second time (I don't remember what I had the first night). I highly recommend that dish, it's delicious!

Their “guac-tail” hour was an excellent value for really high quality small bites. The steak taco, chicken tostada, and blue corn quesadilla were outstanding. The frozen margarita was 1/2 off and was perfectly smooth and balanced. Attentive and friendly service from the bartenders too. Can’t wait to go back!

Excellent experience today with Matthew. He made several strong recommendations. Exceptionally pleased with the service and food. My favorites were the tostadas and churros for dessert. We will be coming back.

I visited The Mission for the first time at this location and it was such a great experience from start to finish. The GM, Kevin, was incredibly kind and genuine. He came over to meet me, chatted for a while (ask him about his love for the Denver Broncos!), and you can just tell how passionate he is about what he does. He’s such a strong, positive presence in the restaurant.

The bartender, Scott, made the most delicious margaritas for us; all of them were fresh and had so much flavor! Absolute top notch service and his personality really made the experience. He was professional but fun, and created such a great vibe for our whole time there.

I love The Mission’s food but kept it simple with chips, salsa, and guac this time. Their salsa is perfectly smoky, the guac is super fresh and flavorful, and the chips are just the right shape for scooping it all up.

The space itself is light, airy, and has a really cool backdrop behind the bar; so different from their Old Town Scottsdale location but with its own personality.

Everything was perfect. Highly recommend The Mission for the food, the ambiance, the experience, and especially the people.
