We were the only diners in the dining area during our entire visit. Now we know why. Food was--- unacceptable. Chicken with unchewable tough skin on; cole slaw seemed day-old-- limp and soupy; french fries were pale, limp, undercooked. Our waitress told us that she'd just heard that the restaurant had been sold when we remarked on the food.

This was our first visit to Ginny's kitchen. We like that we could get in easy and it wasn't over crowded. the food was good but not great. Nothing real special on the entrees. The wine by the glass choices were poor. No good Chardonnay's or Cabs by the glass. The only Zinfandel was $19 . If we come back maybe I'll try a hard liquor drink.

The bbq chicken poor boy ordered by three of the four of use - amazing, rave reviews - outstanding. I had the shrimp and grits, a favorite - delicious as well but served differently from previous times. Desert for three - beignets were awesome, chocolate cream pie - stellar, lemon sorbet I ordered far too covered in overly sweet and thick berry compote, and the lemon sorbet was a frozen disk. Had to wait 20 minutes for it to thaw out somewhat. I was impressed there was a gluten-free dairy, free dessert which many places don't offer, but I won't be ordering it again.

I had read the reviews about Ginny's Kitchen and thought it would be a good place to try. We went w/our neighbors with whom we have often gone out to dinner. Also looked at the menu before making the reservation. The location is convenient, however, the noise level is really loud, and I agree w/the review that the lighting is too bright. Our server and the busboy were both friendly and efficient. The restaurant was busy upon on arrival, but our table was ready for us and we were seated right away. There was only one bartender and it took a long time to get our drinks, which were not complicated...unfortunately the food was not that great.. shrimp and grits were flavorful, but soupy...Mac and cheese was only average, beet salad was not appropriate for splitting... we had asked if it was and were told ‘ yes'.... The beets came in very thin slices and when the salad is split you get 2 thin slices... in my view, that is not a salad that should be split. We would have each ordered our own rather than have what we got.. also there was no dressing on it, so had to ask for dressing! The desserts were the highlight... berry cobbler and beignets ... both very delicious! I think this restaurant needs to get their act together... at present, they do not seem to be able to properly handle the business they are getting by word of mouth. That business will quickly end if they don't fix the these easy problems... I am rooting for them, will give them a try for lunch, but if still shaky, that will be our last visit.

This is a perfect local restaurant to enjoy good food, good service and friendly customers. Not over priced and the portions are generous and the menu is interesting. We shared the beet salad, delicious, and I had the Salmon and my husband had the boar meatloaf, he loved it. Will be going again many times.

Went for dinner on a Friday. It was busy but our table was ready at our reservation time. We had the cornbread as an app. Corn bread just sounds so boring but this was fantastic!! We couldn't decide if it was savory or sweet. The butter on the top was a little sweet so it melted in your mouth. Then a Cesar and orange lavender dressed salad. We loved both. Then I had the pot pie and husband got the pot roast po boy sandwich. He just kept making noises as he stuffed his face. The horsey sauce was just the right touch. We had to end the night with the chocolate crème pie. There was no salt or pepper at the tables bc none was needed. Everything had herbs which made it all taste extra special. We will be back and soon.

This was our first time here since they changed the concept(we really liked Twist!). But we were not disappointed. Started with the fried green tomatoes which were perfectly crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. A nice spice level in the batter and the dipping sauce. Next we both chose to go with po boys. Hubs got the pot roast which was good but my smoked chicken pot boy was outstanding! Hands down best spicy chicken sandwich I've ever had. Also I can't be sure but I'm thinking they make their fries in house too because they were also very nice. Might be amped up a bit with some garlic or parmesan or something but still good. Wine prices were a bit on the high side, even for Scottsdale , beer was about right. Will definitely be back!

Great casual neighborhood place. The food is exceptional. I ordered a salad with salmon as an add on. Even in this simple dish the salmon was perfectly done and the dressing on the salad was fresh and well blended. Will be back and am recommending it to all.

The food was really good! Our party had the beef roast, pot pie, shrimp and meatloaf z-everyone was pleased with their meal. Ambiance would be much improved by lowering the lighting.

We found Ginny's Kitchen to be a neighborhood gem. It was our first time at the restaurant, and the menu had multiple entries that we considered ordering. We both chose to try the bison; one in the form of a pot roast; and the other in a Po'Boy. Both were excellent! The service was friendly n& attentive. We will go back.

First time trying Ginny's Kitchen and we really enjoyed it. The hostess was very welcoming. Our server was incredibly attentive. The menu has great choices and the food was delicious. The beef brisket was very, very tender albeit a little in the salty side. The chicken pot pie was smaller than we thought it would be but the taste was wonderful. The biscuits are not to be missed. The green fried tomatoes were also a hit. Next time, we will try a Po Boy! Very nice neighborhood restaurant.

I try to like this family run restaurant, but unfortunately, it's only so-so. Friendly but slow service and the food is a little hit or miss. I hope they can get it together -- I'd like to see them succeed.

Nice atmosphere but the food wasn't very good and definitely expensive for the quality. The chicken wings and burgers were dry and very salty. The mushroom pie was mostly phyllo dough and gravy served over white rice, very few actual mushrooms or other vegetables, huge disappointment for $25. The coleslaw was brown and wilted, we had to send it back and ask for fries instead. We ordered the beet salad and it was never brought out, had to ask twice to have it removed from the bill. It's a great concept, but the food just doesn't deliver.

I made a reservation for Ginny's for Tuesday the 27th. Open table sent me a reminder which I confirmed. When we arrived (about a 20minute ride) we found it closed. We had to scramble to find another restaurant. If the restaurant was closed, it should not have taken and then later confirmed the reservation. Very disappointed and won't even bother trying the restaurant after that experience.

Issues we had: Service was uninformed about menu items including drinks Food descriptions were inaccurate, eg, wild mushroom pie was mostly rice and uncooked phyllo, chicken pot pies were overly spiced, separate additions were not added to dish, it was served as side dish Colorado Pot Roast with bison was very good ($28) Very expensive, •appetizers were $15 and main courses $20+ It is a very cute restaurant whose pricing is out of line
