Great service! Wonderful, flavorful dishes. Village Tavern is a great place to chill or meet with your fav peeps. There is outdoor and indoor seating. The bar has two tvs and high tops in the area.

It was my mom, husband, toddler and I tonight. There was a 15 minute wait (Monday night) for the dining room, but no wait for the patio so we chose the patio. I ended up having a $7 glass of wine with fish and chips. I asked for silverware and didn't get any until the manager came by when we were ready for the check. My toddler had the quesadilla, and husband got the prime rib sandwich. I'm not sure what my mom got. The waiter hadn't been back for at least 20 minutes, I ate my broccoli with my fingers and used the condensation from my glass to clean my hands. We explained what happened with the service, and he took off my mom's meal and gave us a piece of key lime pie as an apology.
Kid-friendliness: My two year old was able to eat here

Great place we discovered when arrived in town. Loved the beet salad and prime rib. Just had to ask for dinner rolls, which they were able to provide us. Portion sizes were just enough for us they we split our meal and they also separated our meal into two. All fresh vegetables.

Fries came cold, quickly exchanged.
Blackened prime rib can unblackened. Sent back and they slapped on spices.
Chicken with green beans and mash potatoes, green beans cold. Did not send that back.
I made reservations for family in town for my birthday. A bit surprising. This has been our favorite place.

Food was excellent. Service was very good.
Parking: I had the crab cake. It was delicious. Highly recommend.
I have been going there for over 10 years. They have been top notch but this time I had a poor experience. Waiter forgot to bring our drinks. Fish was overdone. Waiter was told it was my wife’s birthday and he forgot and then after being reminded forgot again! Talked to manager who was very understanding and apologized along with giving a credit towards our next visit. He said they were understaffed. We certainly hope this was a one time problem. This has been one of our favorite restaurants.

Our favorite restaurant in Scottsdale! 10+ visits later, we still love it. Scratch kitchen means everything is fresh. Absolutely WAY better steaks than Ruth Chris / Maestros and the prices are way more fair. This is the place we bring friends and family when they visit and everyone has rated 5 stars.

The server said the crab sandwich was great and he was right. My friend had the ribs and they were so tender with great flavor. I will definitely be coming back.

To start, the clam chowder included perfectly textured potatoes. Tasty. The crab cake was delicious and further prepared us for the main plate, the rainbow trout in a teriyaki paste. My dining companion selected near the same course as I did, and regaled herself. Personally, I found the mashed potatoes lacking in texture and somewhat grainy, while she found them divine. I found the teriyaki paste to be slightly overpowering whereas my company did not share the same opinion. The beans were good, yet made to be spicy with red peppers, and the broccoli was simply steamed and presented the right texture. The carrot cake was... well...Fargos has the best carrot cake in Arizona, but here it was passable. I am returning for another lunch today to further explore the menu!
Visit 2:
I tried the meatloaf. Poor choice; like a factory packaged convenience. The Thai salad with chicken was excellent. As for the appetizers: poor scallops, sweet little lives sacrificed on the altar of the extreme, best leave the concept to rumaki. Once upon a time, rumaki -chicken livers wrapped in bacon, were both popular and delicious. Today, in asperation of novelty, the delicate scallop is wrapped in a strong bacon strip that masks the fragile scallop. The roasted cauliflower in a bed roasted bell pepper purée - not pretentious, just delicious.
