We stayed in this resort for 6 nights and really enjoyed ourselves. We played Pickle ball, went swimming in the Lazy River, listened to the 5:00 bagpipes, watched the sunset, went shopping and dining at the world class outdoor shopping mall (within walking distance) and really unplugged and relaxed after a very stressful month.

My wife and I booked this Historical “high end” resort for a much needed getaway. At first sight, the resort grounds and lobby were very nice. However, once there, the staff (multiple members) we’re less than enthusiastic to help with anything. I guess maintenance didn’t want to work either, as multiple floors ice makers didn’t work as well. Also, they were renovating their main dining room, so everyone was directed to the golf course restaurant for any dining needs. Given there was a resort credit of $100 per stay tied to the room charge, we decided to go to the restaurant Sunday morning. The menu was very limited, but they were pushing the buffet, to which we agreed. I have had better looking and tasting food at low end hotels for FREE. Not to mention the server (another staff issue) was inattentive and only came by once to our table. Now, once he brought the bill of $75, he was very talkative and surely he wanted his 20-25% tip. I felt swindled. I just figure when you spend upwards of $575+ a night, I expect more for my money. I was in the lodging industry at a point in my career, so I know what matters. I’m ashamed at Westin lowering the standard of service. Definitely tarnished their reputation in my eyes. I would look elsewhere if you’re looking to come to AZ.

The Westin is the most family friendly small resort. Traveling with my young grand toddlers the staff was nothing short of accommodating and kind. Requesting via the chat option for an early check in for a toddler who needs to nap by noon was the nicest feature . Staff over the chat incredibly supportive and helpful. Never a “ we are fully booked” type of attitude you find at other resorts. Nothing worse than looking on line and seeing plenty of room availability and then told “ we are fully sold out thus cannot accommodate early check in “. That does not happen here. Staff here go above and beyond at front desk , pool attendants, pool food service too. Shout out to Sarah ( from Maine) at front desk and Kevin at pool bar/ restaurant. The staff are well trained and that is greatly appreciated. I’ve looked at other options in the Scottsdale area like The Phoenician, Waldorf but always come back to The Westin. Just about to check in for our 4 th visit over the last year and looking forward to it. Pool time!!

We had a terrific weekend. We met our adult son/dil there for family time and to play 18 holes. I played my best game ever! It was fun. The hotel is located perfectly, surrounded by neat shops and restaurants, pedestrian friendly. After dinner Saturday evening we first enjoyed s’mores in resort campus. Then we hung our behind the restaurant to hear the bagpipes program. Very nice, and we’ll attended. Afterwards we enjoyed watching college on the hugest outdoor tv I’ve ever seen. We will return. (The lobby has an interesting local reptile exhibit!)

We organized a course sponsored by a professional society, not knowing too much about this resort, and we were truly surprised by the excellent service, amazing facilities, expansive building grounds, and the overall resort experience. We were upgraded to a suite, I believe as a token of appreciation for bringing the business of a conference to this resort. Our suite was appointed with two large TVs, a living room, and a large, comfortable bed with two bathrooms. The lobby has multiple levels, and the spa/fitness facilities are excellent. Very clean, friendly, professional service. Truly an excellent experience in all regards. The only negative aspect of staying here was the very large outdoor TV which featured sports, making for a noisy experience when sitting outside, around the lovely gas lit fireplaces. A more quiet environment would’ve been better. Also, it might be that some guests don’t appreciate watching American football at maximum volume when trying to relax after dinner outside.

My husband and I spent 3 days here for a long weekend vacation. We had super fun here. The entrance/Lobby isn’t as dramatic/nice as The Phoenician, but it’s close and very nice. (See photo.) The hotel is well maintained and looks nice. Renovations are underway to the restaurant, which necessitated a trip by a shuttle to the Brittle Bush restaurant to dine. The shuttle rides turned out to be no big deal. The shuttle would arrive in less than 5 minutes and the trip on shuttle would take under 5 min. Brittle Bush restaurant was a golf eatery, but service was prompt, dishes were good, and view out window of course was nice. TVs add there to watch football, etc. We loved Kierland golf course. It is forgiving, and we had a ball. It did bottleneck around 1:00 pm. Lots of activities occur, making a stay be fun like summer camp. After we s’mores at the OK corral on campus, we enjoyed the bagpiper concert. Fav. Behind the building is a huge outdoor tv, to allow viewing of sports outside. Nice. We rurally enjoyed our stay. We will return. One comment - the door to our shower did not close.

For the price you pay, I expected more customer service from the staff. When we checked in on a Friday evening (no one else was at the counter or waiting), the gentleman checking us in rarely said anything. He didn’t even tell us what room we were in. Just handed us the key card envelope and said “the elevators are over there”, vaguely pointing in the direction of the elevators. The room was clean, except for the bathroom. There was a hair in the sink and orangey stuff in the shower grout that looked like mildew. The shower floor was slick when we first stepped in and I slipped a bit. A slick shower floor is dangerous. We went to The Rim on Friday night and were looking forward to the live music. But there were some people there who were dancing. They seemed like they might be regulars as they talked with the singer by name. One of the bartenders at The Rim said they do this all the time. And as they were rearranging the tables and chairs to create their dance floor, they asked to move my husbands chair to accommodate them. Um…no. Went to Waltz & Weiser for an early dinner on Saturday. The only person actually working was Jaime. That girl deserves a raise. A bunch of others were standing around looking at their phones or just chatting while we were waiting to place an order. Jaime’s shift ended, so she passed us over to another server who completely ignored us. I had to go up to the bar to ask to place an order. It took an hour and a half for us to eat. Their reason? Renovations. Sorry, but that’s not my problem. You need to deal with how to get service t9 your customers who are paying a premium for these rooms. My suggestion? Go somewhere else next time you want a getaway.

Love this resort and everything they offer. The pools amazing the kids would spend all day and evening there if allowed. Located in the heart of Scottsdale. They offer a shuttle to shopping right in Kierland and the best restaurants in Arizona surround this place. The beds are extremely comfortable after a long day. They offer room service, pool dining and restaurants on site for the ones that choose to stay on site. This is a top go to for our family.

Went to celebrate my bday with a group of friends. Front desk was really welcoming, manager Max and the gentleman that took care of us were able to give as the rooms early and all together and were really helpful with special requests. At the pool manager Matt was really attentive but special thanks to Aidan our pool server who went above and beyond. He was on top of everything always with a great smile and attitude. For a large group he will always find us in the pool, lazy river to bring our drinks or make sure if we needed to order something extra. I had a great time in this wonderful resort. Thanks again!

We had a great staycation at the Westin Kierland! Big Thank you to pool and slide guard Alfred for being super friendly and helpful! We stayed two nights specifically to hang out at the pool and lazy river. The complex as a whole was perfect for the two adults and two grade schoolers. We took in the bagpipe music and the smores. We also went next door to Kierland Commons where they have lots of restaurants and shops. Overall we had a blast at the adventure pool. We had a pool side casita room which made pool access very easy. We were able go between the lazy river and our room with ease. Our tip is to check out Coffee Flats for beverages and snacks. Quick and easy.

Feels like an Irish pub!! And our bartender Tory went above and beyond.... in addition to great food and ambience along with ice cold Guinness, Tory arranged for a gift to be delivered to our room as we had to euthanize our dog that day. She listened to our story with genuine compassion and caring. We will never forget her kindness. The Westin Kierland deserves a 5 star in every way, and don't forget to visit their Waltz and Weiser pub!

Resort is beautiful and we had a nice stay but there were 2 areas where improvements can be made. 1. The lazy river and the pool area in general was dirty. The lazy river needed to be skimmed badly and had lots of leaves and bugs floating around to the point it that the debris would stick to your hands and legs as you floated around. Yuck! The pool area was better regarding bugs and leaves but had lots of cups and trash around and in the pool. Staff could be more diligent about keeping these areas clean throughout the day. 2. We requested a king bed and early check in. When we came to check in, we were told that only queen rooms were available, so we agreed to wait until a king bed was ready. We were texted several hours later that our room was ready, only to find out that it had queen beds. We reserved a king so we asked to be moved to a different room. They agreed but said that only first floor rooms were available. We didn't have an issue with that and agreed to the first floor king room. What they didn't tell us was that the room was on the main hallway between the lobby and pool so it was constantly noisy from early morning until late night and that the king bed wasn't a real bed but a murphy bed that was really low to the ground - thank goodness we don't have bad knees or we wouldn't have been able to get in and out of the bed. I feel like both of these details should have been disclosed to us before we got assigned the room. On the good side, the bed and pillows were extremely comfortable. The meeting space was great and the food served during the conference was really good. If we had come in a different season, we would have enjoyed the outdoor seating options as they are really nice and the views are beautiful.

First time I ever had to pay for large ice cubes in my scotch. $3 per cube, I had 2 whiskies, so I was charged $6 for ice!! Total rip off.

I made a simple order, wings & a coke (pepsi) to go. In the time it took me to walk from the W&W to my room, the wings were room temperature. They also gave me no napkins so after wing #1 I had to walk all the way back down just to get something that should have been included by default. Bad service and mediocre, over-priced food. Definitely going elsewhere for the remainder of my stay.
