this place is good but the food is a little bad but the other things are very good and your sons or kids can have fun outside!

Arizona has so many great authentic Mexican places that I’d recommend you go to if you want actually good Mexican food. I’d really only recommend Z’Tejas to someone if they were specifically wanting Tex-mex or if they were looking for a place with a good happy hour margarita deal.

Very mid. I had steak fajitas and a good set of teeth yet was having trouble biting through some pieces. The Margherita was also barely enjoyable, as it was way too sour. This is a place older folks go, sit around, chat and eat tortilla chips. Also... cornbread? Yeah idk why there was a tiny cornbread.

Happy Hour food was very good. I ordered the Ahi Tuna entree. That was a bit over-cooked. The glaze on it was very good. The prices were very reasonable. I wish it was cooler out, they have a beautiful patio! We will be back.
Great lunch experience. Our server was very attentive and helpful, even as the place started to get busy. He replenished my lemonade when he saw that it was low without me asking. We ordered the Salsa Trio (I was warned that one of the trios of chili salsa is very spicy, and it was), Agua Chile Shrimp Ceviche, and Catfish Tacos. All were very good. The free cornbread was addictive. Great location and restaurant felt spacious; we sat near the window to get a view. Will return again.

Another five stars for the location. It’s ON the lake off Hayden and Via Linda. The best view, and atmosphere. When the weather is cool, eat and drink at Z Tejas and then walk along the lake. There’s a frozen yogurt shop next door too, and it’s just across the way from Talking Stick Resort, Salt River Fields and Great Wolf Lodge. M
We loved the bright setting that allowed us to enjoy the lake without being outside in the heat. We’ll he back in the fall to take advantage of their lakefront patio!

Obviously, it's an old restaurant. Came here since I had been to Z Tejas in SoCal and Austin.
The service was friendly. The food was not so great.
Z queso was the best of the two items I ordered. However, the blackened seared ahi tuna was terrible. The tuna was grissly and chewy.
