Arizona has so many great authentic Mexican places that I’d recommend you go to if you want actually good Mexican food. I’d really only recommend Z’Tejas to someone if they were specifically wanting Tex-mex or if they were looking for a place with a good happy hour margarita deal.
Very mid. I had steak fajitas and a good set of teeth yet was having trouble biting through some pieces. The Margherita was also barely enjoyable, as it was way too sour. This is a place older folks go, sit around, chat and eat tortilla chips. Also... cornbread? Yeah idk why there was a tiny cornbread.
Service here was exceptional and the food was delicious. Tried the nachos with barbacoa and the gringo tacos. The cornbread they bring you is excellent. Would definitely go back and try some of the other food.
