Traffic into Sedona was a nightmare so we opted for a meal in Oak Creek near our hotel that was recommended to us by the hotel and some people we met. The food, the service and the atmosphere were all great.

Nice restaurant with really good service. Not a huge menu and decently priced. Their signature dish and chilean Seabass was delicious, focaccia bread and calamari was great. Chicken Parmesan was mediocre at best. But over all good meal.

Service Matters

I didn’t eat the food and neither did 3 other people at our table of 9 guests total after being so put off by server Eric’s awful attitude, rude personality and obnoxiousness. He would rudely interrupt me speaking directly to my daughter trying to help her decide what she wanted for dinner. I would try and speak to her directly and understand her needs and he kept interjecting talking over me to her as if he were going to narrow down her likes and wants quicker than I would, it was bizarre. We were there celebrating my sister’s birthday and purchased a fantastic wine, 8 Years In The Desert, Eric rudely poured only the head of the tables glass of wine and no one else’s, it was puzzling and uncalled for. I felt disrespected and feel strongly that it was a show of disrespect by him, as he had decided at this point he didn’t particularly like our table, it came out very loud through his tone and rude interactions. At one point when he asked me for my order, I turned to tell him and he had stepped away to the other side of the table unbeknownst to me, so I started to give me order and he wasn’t standing there which was so strange that he would do that, and it was embarrassing. He came a minute or 2 later and said “Ok, ready to order?” I responded with “Actually I did, but you weren’t there.” To which he IMMEDIATELY SNAPS BACK (as if he were expecting me to say that) “Oh yes I was! I’ve been right here, now what can I get you?! I was so stunned, it was outrageous behavior. I poured my son a small bit of wine, who turned 21 3 weeks ago. UNTIL Eric made a magnificent scene approaching our table practically yelling “Who’s is this?!” Grabbing the glass of wine and holding it in the air. He loudly goes onto say “DOES he have ID, this glass can’t even be anywhere near him!” And on and on. It was excruciating to watch Eric attempt to embarrass my son and family and loud talk our table in the horrible manner that he did attempting to persecute us for NO REASON AT ALL. My son’s ID was at our resort by the way so he said nothing while Eric loudly scolded he and my brother sitting at the end of the table but everyone was mortified. Eric ruined our dinner and family time and ultimately costs the restaurant money because 4 of us were so uneasy and put off by his attitude and demeanor, that we didn’t order entrees. Continuing to sit there and have him attempt to keep serving us after this was very hard for everyone. We desperately wanted someone else to serve our table but it seemed too late at this point so no one spoke up and asked, we just all couldn’t wait to leave. Finding out that the owner of this restaurant also owned 2 more of the local favorites we fell in love with, Lisa Pisa and Butterfly Garden I think were their names, compelled me to write this review even more. Food and service at the other locations were great, as will be reflected in those reviews. Eric was atrocious, I travel frequently and all over the world and I’ve never experienced anything so upsetting and awful in the way of restaurant table service. Notably, we were a mixed race table, with at least one bi racial couple, so I of course questioned did this pose an issue for Eric and make him so uncomfortable that he treated us so poorly? Does he treat other patrons with such little gratitude and respect? Curious.

We celebrated our engagement here. Some of the best pasta I’ve ever had. Service was great too. Great place for a date night.

Excellent food and great atmosphere. Recommend sea bass, garganelli and mushroom and wild rice soup. Tiramisu is light and tasty but it was served partially frozen.

Cucina Rustica was wonderful. We were on vacation in Sedona and found this great restaurant online. Very pretty and the staff is so welcoming. We have visited it twice already. The food is delicious and the service is excellent. Our server, Luis, was so friendly and we enjoyed talking to him. His service was excellent. The hostess and the staff were very nice. Recommend highly.

Always amazing food and clean plates when we are done. The service was a bit stressed due to the amount of folks there but not below par. We love coming here and it's a yearly treat.

Everything was fine and tasty, except wines and cocktail were delivered after the appetizer. Yes it was a very busy Sunday night but that shouldn't happen. Think it was more the bars issue than server.

Food was great as usual. First time in more than 20 visits service was below par. Our waiter was slow and seemingly unfamiliar with dishes etc. Not busy either which was very surprising

Disappointed with the food. Let me tell you why. And let me preface this review by offering the following; I don't blame corporate restaurants for cutting corners. They are in this game to make a profit. As an Italian American, with an Italian mother and grandmother teaching me the art of pasta making, I am disappointed with the quality of the the dry store-bought pasta and and either frozen or purchased gnocchi. The later was almost inedible even when smothered with sauce. (If it was house made, even more of a travesty). The unfortunate truth is, most people cannot tell the difference and corporate restauranteurs just see $$. That said, Cucina Rustica also pushed all the typical upselling that restaurants always do: “sparkling water, to start.” The waiter also of course recommended the most expensive dish, not only to our table but to the surrounding tables as well. There is not much competition in Sedona; it's a captive audience. And judging by the wait time to get a reservation, I would say they are running the corporation just fine. It's a just not great Italian fare.

Server forgot our appies, then offerered to bring them for dessert. Not at all the experience I have had at other Dahl restaurants. worst of all I was hosting and really talked it up. Eventually was remedied by covering wine.
