This place is theee go to for breakfast!!! Everything was delicious! Bourbon peach French toast, crab cakes Benedict and the Chilaquiles! Not to mention the $1 mimosas when you order a breakfast meal! Our server Terri was so attentive and checked on our table often!

I had the most magnificent, surprising breakfast this morning at the HP Hitching Post Restaurant! If you find yourself in Sedona, you absolutely must make this your first stop.
I ordered the Short Rib Chilaquiles, and it was unlike any I've ever had. The dish came piled high with tender, rich short ribs nestled in perfectly crisped tortillas. They were unbelievably savory and perfectly cooked, instantly elevating the entire meal.

Fantastic friendly service and amazing imaginative food!!!!
Me and my party did not even get seated. We had gone in for the first time and stood in the entryway for a couple of minutes with no one approaching us. A waitress had slowed down by us and I asked if this was a seat yourself or I'd were were waiting for a host. Her tone was disrespectful and rude when she said a host would be helping us. I'm unsure if they were being overworked, or if she was annoyed about the lack of a host - but it soured the mood enough to leave immediately.

The patio was cool and inviting for an early morning breakfast. Our waitress was Claudia who was so welcoming and attentive. We shared a breakfast quesadilla which came on a beautifully presented plate with potatoes, condiments and fruit. The bonuses were a $1 mimosa and the most delicious homemade salsa (so good that we asked to a bit more to take with us). Definitely recommend this place - ask for Claudia!!
5* experience all the way around!! Best food on our week trip!!

A lovely restaurant with nice decor. Love the hidden door restrooms which were spotless. Comfy seating and wonderful staff! We had the fish tacos, steak and cheese smothered french fries and a prickly pear margarita for lunch! Food was served hot, delicious and with a pleasant smile! We are definitely coming back when in Sedona again!

I stopped in at HP American Bistro while visiting Sedona. The atmosphere is definitely a highlight—cozy café feel with a charming patio and even a little waterfall in the back that makes for a relaxing setting. The service was friendly and attentive, which added to the experience.
The food was good but not outstanding for the price. Dishes like the bourbon French toast and breakfast burrito were tasty, but portion sizes felt on the smaller side compared to what you pay. Our bill for breakfast for four came out to around $130 before tip, which felt steep for what we ordered.
Overall, this is a nice spot for breakfast or brunch if you want a relaxed environment and don’t mind paying Sedona-level prices. But if you’re watching your budget or want bigger portions for the cost, you might feel it’s a bit overpriced. Parking around the area is tough.

Our server was clearly under the influence. She was a young woman with tattoos. Initially, I thought she was very energetic and incredibly sweet. However, her behavior took a turn for the worse when she started forgetting things. We ordered mimosas, and she brought us just a glass of champagne, claiming to have forgotten the juice we had ordered. She then returned, only to forget again. We asked for water, and she forgot that as well. When we requested the daily special, she brought it to us after double-checking twice with the chef to ensure she had the correct deal.
Feeling hungry, I asked for chips and salsa. She brought them out after we had received our food and informed us that she had added a dip. When we received our bill, she approached us and apologized for making a mistake with the daily special, stating that we now had to pay the full price. She also charged us for the dip that she had supposedly included.
We politely asked if she could remove the dip charge, but she informed us that she could only ask her manager, but she was certain he would refuse. Just then, another employee who had been working nearby overheard our conversation and promptly removed the dip charge.

HP is located on the main tourist strip of Sedona. It's easy to casually walk by and miss a good restaurant experience. The interior look of the restaurant and its menu presents an upscale Mexican food feeling. We popped in during happy hour and enjoyed the Magaritas. The guacamole was fresh and made in front of us. I decided to have the steak burger, and it was one of the best burgers I've ever had. You can tell a premium cut of meat was ground and put together to deliver a thick, juicy burger. The outdoor patio area was clean, and the water fountain feature provided a nice calm background ambiance. We enjoy HP and will be back.
