What a great little spot! The Americano was delicious and I treated myself to muffins from the 1/2 price table. What a score!

If you're looking to have a delicious day in Sedona, visiting Karen's gluten-free bakery is an absolute must! This bakery is nothing short of unbelievable, being completely gluten-free, dairy-free, and free of unrefined sugars. Despite these limitations, Karen's offers the most exquisite and flavorful treats you can find. During my daughter-in-law's visit to Sedona, who suffers from severe celiac disease and Crohn's, Karen's bakery was a slice of heaven for her throughout her stay. As a regular patron myself, I can vouch for the enchanting and decadent sweets that await you at Karen's. Their pizzas and lunch specials are also a delight to the taste buds. What sets Karen's apart is their commitment to using only coconut sugar and maple syrup, completely avoiding refined sugars. For health-conscious individuals seeking to steer clear of gluten and sugars, this bakery is a paradise. Don't miss the opportunity to experience this wonderful place if you're health-minded and looking for delectable treats without compromising on quality. Karen's gluten-free bakery in Sedona truly is a gem that caters to your well-being and taste buds simultaneously. -

I walked in and walked out, the image of the product said all I needed to know. The product just didn't look fresh and some looked over-baked.

sad cupcakes :( we had to throw them away, as they were inedible. The chocolate tasted like chalk. Whomp whomp.

I bought these for my sisters birthday, and they tasted like unmixed concrete. Needless to say, it was disappointment. The shop was cute, though, and my sister wished she'd tried the soup.

I haven't been in since Karen's changed hands. Wow! I have to say it's such a fun happy establishment for my fellow gluten free, vegan, local goodness peeps!! I had an oat London Fog and a bowl of Borscht soup. Both so yummy.

Karens bake shop has amazing options for those who need gluten free pastries! Love the peanut bitter pie and their thunder mountain cupcakes. Their breakfast sandwich and berry smoothies are also very delicious. The staff is very friendly and I would definitely recommend.

Edit: my second experience was terrible. The marketing online for "cookies" did not specify the "cookies" were sucker lollipops. We just assumed the center of the heart shaped cookies was cookie with some kind of icing. When the photos online showed them sitting on top of each other in the display case, that's what I thought it was. Not a "sucker lollipop". I had a family member drive 45 minutes to get them for me, and she didn't really know what they were but got them anyways. I immediately called the location and after a lengthy phone call the woman offered to refund the $18 for the two cookies. I never received the refund so I attempted to call back 4 days later to find my phone number was blocked! So I had to call from another phone to reach someone, which was the owner. She stated she would give my info to this woman to get me refunded. I finally got a $17 refund which is fine, but the experience to get that refund was not ok. I have never had a business block my phone number to make it so I can't call them. That is highly inappropriate and very unprofessional, considering I was very nice to the person on the other end of the phone (I have two witnesses that heard the conversation, as proof). Based on this experience and bad marketing that was misleading, I would not recommend this place. To spend that much on "cookies" that were only an outer shape of a heart is absurd. I threw away a lot of food I bought the first time because it was dry and gritty. I wanted to love this place but after this second experience I will not come back. $8-$9 for a cookie is just wrong. There are many other dairy free gluten free cookies I buy elsewhere and they range from $3.50-$4.50 each. This location in Sedona has them completely overpriced for quality and taste. I would recommend little product information cards to be placed in their displace cases so people can read what the items are and see the price up front. (They currently have cards that just say "Sedona cookie" but that doesn't tell you it's a shortbread cookie or what ingredients are in them. Nor does it say the price for that particular item) That would resolve a lot of these kinds of issues. Most dietary places do this, so people know the ingredients in the product and the price up front. I can honestly say the chalk board way up at the ceiling isn't good for people with bad vision either. The other chalkboards on the display case are also hard to read being so tiny of writing, again for those of us with bad vision. Just my own personal experience. Everyone will have their own unique experiences here.

perfectly executed cupcake and lemon bar. My wife and I stopped in here for Valentine's day and were pleasantly surprised at how balanced the flavors were. My wife ordered the "Thunder mountain" cupcake and it wasn't too sweet or rich but definitely didn't lack chocolatey flavor. I ordered the lemon bar and it had a great lemon filling and the crust wasn't burnt at all. Whom ever was at the counter was very helpful and recommended us the cupcake.

Had a great cup of French Onion soup during a recent trip to Sedona. Great selection of GF treats, too!

I must say, this bakery is the most fun place I've been to in awhile. It's such a fun vibe inside, with awesome friendly workers who are able to give you all the info you need. It's incredible how it's all dairy free and gluten free. It makes life a bit "sweeter", knowing I can safely consume some goodies. The presentation of the food items is truly incredible. My daughter had a tuna sandwich not photographed, that she said was the best she's ever had. The bread was very soft and moist, unlike a lot of gluten free breads. The price is consistent with dietary items like this, so to others it may seem expensive to me it seems reasonable. It's a short drive from Flagstaff, and it's now my new favorite sweet shop! Can't wait to try other goodies next time I go down there!Dietary restrictions: All gluten free and dairy free!

Karen's Bakeshop offers a variety of gf and DF options, and my family loves to eat there. I contacted them to create a custom cake for my mom's birthday (I live out of state) and they were very communicative and so easy to work with. They offer a variety of cake flavors, filling and icing options, different sizes and reasonable pricing. I left artistic direction up to them and the cake turned out great.Dietary restrictions: Entire restaurant is GF/DF
