We really enjoyed dinner here, and we came back at least twice during a three day trip. It's not so crowded, perfect to avoid a long line after a full day of hiking. The food was very fresh and tasty. We really liked the salmon, and my son loved his kids meal chicken bowl.
My family went there for dinner and me and my dad are Japanese, safe to say this is authentic Japanese food. The sushi was superb, and the tempura was fried perfectly. We were seated immediately and the drink choices are excellent.
After reading some bad reviews — and being a local - I had add why I love this place.I love this place because it has really authentic and fresh fish - which is hard to find inland sometimes, at very reasonable cost. The sushi is very plain, but fresh and delicious, some of the best sashimi I’ve had since NYC. I’m sure they are probably able to keep the cost of such fresh fish down, because the dishes are very simple. And the couple who own it - Gina & Yoshi - are wonderful at service, and making you feel right at home and taken-care-of, as if you were in their own kitchen. What this place is not - is fancy. So if you’re looking for fancy ambiance, fancy rolls, and fancy cocktails - this is not your place. But if you’re looking for simple, fresh, delicious sushi or sashimi or an appetizer, with some hot sake or a Sapporo - you will love this place.
I try to be honest with my reviews.. Service here is excellent!! Husband and wife own the place. Only 5-6 tables and small menu selection. Yes, they have the basics but I just wasn't impressed overall. The food is good, just not spectacular. I was expecting so much more based on recommendations.
We arrived after the grill had closed, but the sushi and calamari tempura were very good. A small place, with few tables, but friendly.
Excellent and fresh food, rolled to a perfect eating size, pleasant atmosphere with a view and fun to talk with the engaging owner who has been there 30 years :)
This is a first. Never wrote a review for a restaurant I didn't actually eat at. But in this case, I went, sat down, then looked at the "menu". Yes, if I had looked ahead I might have spared myself even visiting. All I can say is the menu was bizarrely limited. Sushi was by the piece (not 2 pieces), sashimi was supposedly available but not described. There were a few Maki rolls, no combination rolls. The only "dinners" were with tempura or teriyaki (no "dinners" with sushi, sushi rolls, sashimi, nothing). So look at the menu ahead and if you think it suits you, it may be fine.
Gina and Yoshi provided a wonderful experience, it is a shame I'm not a local to Arizona as I would love to return again.I recommend the tempora shrimp and to split a teriyaki steak with the table, then order the sushi. Cannot recommend this place enough.
Food is just ok. The rolls were cut so big I would’ve been chewing for an hour if I put the whole thing in my mouth & they fell apart as soon as I tried to pick them up. Spicy salmon & California rolls ($10/ea) had no flavor at all. Edamame was cold when served. It was all pretty bland. There is only one waitress & she’s slammed so don’t expect any conversation or suggestions. I just moved to Sedona a few months ago but I doubt I’ll be back.
Really good and authentic sushi, that I didn't expect in that area. Definitely a secret jewel near Sedona

So incredible. This chef has GongFu! Totally authentic, amazingly tasty. Don't disrespect this guy, his game is strong, his cat pics are sublime.
The sashimi plate was beautiful, and the gyoza was some of the best I've had ever. The staff was very friendly as well.
The owner is awesome, no nonsense amazing chef with only the freshest fish in cocconino County.
We eat here everytime we visit the area. Simple yet delicious sushi that's not slathered in sauces or rolled with excessive rice. I look forward to eating each time.
Wait staff was friendly and helpful but after we placed our order I could audibly hear the person in the back who was preparing our food cursing ? at the waitress Regina telling her he didn't want to prepare the two skewer chicken yakatori we ordered. He changed the wait time 3 times. The last time he told her he was going to cook it right. He yelled at her and asked her if she was going to tell us or he would come out and say it.I Guess he is the only person working the line cooking. There are 3 tables ahead of us so we will see how long it takes. The place is quaint, the sushi chef is nice. The place is older or they fry a lot if things because it smells of old frying oilHopefully they get the kitchen chef some help because I am terribly concerned about the food we ordered. My husband is an Asian food junkie so he is willing to risk it.He did address it with the waitress and the chef listened in..
