We wandered into Mooney’s simply because we wanted to get out and play some darts… and wow, we did not expect to have this much fun.

This place is an absolute riot in the best possible way. The bartenders were incredibly friendly, the crowd was fantastic, and we ended up meeting some truly awesome people. It’s the kind of bar where you show up casually and somehow leave feeling like you made new friends.

There are also so many fun, hidden surprises throughout the place (you’ll know exactly what I mean once you’re there 😂). Let’s just say… keep your eyes open and maybe look for a hidden black… yeah, you get the idea.

Great STRONG drinks, great energy, great people, and zero pretension. We laughed the entire time and had way more fun than we ever expected.

We will 100% be back — next time with even more friends in tow.

Fantastic time! We didn't have anywhere to go after dinner, but we weren't disappointed to what this bar had to give!! Wonderful time for being a dive bar! Amber took good care of us as she moved around the bar! Definitely coming back next time!

My sister and I were the only Black patrons in this bar and both the redheaded bartender and the black haired waitress ignored us and refused to serve us. We sat for over 15 minutes and no one approached us or asked us if we needed help.

When I went to the bartender to order, she told me she couldn’t serve me and I needed to wait for the waitress. The waitress was rude and dismissive when I asked if we could order and close a tab.

Upon reading previous reviews, it’s clear that the staff has a problem with kind customer service and people of color that walk into their bar. Don’t spend your money here.

Went on new years day and had a blast. Everyone was friendly and were having a good time. Typical bar drinks, friendly staff. Karaoke.

Mooney’s staff were rude, inattentive, and flat out wrong about the state alcohol policy, making it impossible for us to order and give them money, even when we tried. We left there unsatisfied and went to the Hudson restaurant in the same plaza. And immediately, we had a much better experience!

My sister and I walked into the bar and seated ourselves at a table, and after not being approached for several minutes, we decided to follow the direction of a posted sign that said ‘order at the bar.’ When my sister went up there, the bartender ignored her for awhile, and then when she finally talked to my sister, she told her, with an attitude, that we could not order at the bar if we were seated at a table. Couldn't even close the tab.

My sister came back to the table where we still weren’t served for several minutes, and instead, we watched another woman who sat down after us, and right by us, get approached by the waitress for her order. As the waitress was walking back to the kitchen with the order, my sister called out to her and asked if we could order, and the waitress — with an attitude, just like her bartender — said she was in the middle of taking somebody else’s order and needed us to wait. She did then bring us some waters and came to take our order, which I appreciate. But then when I told the waitress that I had accidentally left my license at home, but had a picture of it on my phone, she said that not only could I not order — I couldn’t even be in the bar without it.

That is ridiculous!! I understand wanting the physical ID to serve alcohol, for legal reasons. But it is also perfectly legal, and makes much more sense, to respond to that situation by saying ‘we can’t serve you alcohol without the ID, but you’re welcome to order something else.’ I would’ve happily gotten a soda and the burger my sister and I were talking about sharing, even as my sister was much more eager to leave by that point than I was. Instead, the waitress claimed a law that doesn’t exist.

Anyways, we left Mooney’s, went to the Hudson, where we were sat immediately, greeted warmly by their waitress, got to enjoy both alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks at their happy hour, along with some good food. I highly recommend the Hudson over the stupidity going on at Mooney’s.

Irish bars never seem to fail if you're looking for a good bar layout. Lots of bar seats and plenty of seating plus they carry Smithwicks(smitticks) one of my favorite Irish red beers. Fish and chips were tasty and their homemade tartar and cherry balsmaic vinegar complimented it perfectly. Friendly and fast service, personable bartender that actually engaged in helpful conversation about the area.

Just stopped in for a drink. Great staff and atmosphere. Coming in just to see the signs was sufficient justification. Hilarious!
