Rotten Johnny's Wood-Fired Pizza Pie

It appears to be closed down for some reason. We've gone be 2 times while in town and both times it was closed. Even had a couple of UPS and FedEx delivery stickers on it.

This place is no longer open for business! Do not go and waste your time!

Door says summer hours at 11am-9pm on Saturdays. It is 118pm and the door is locked

Ordered Woodfired Shrimp; didn't have the Paprika Glaze as advertised on the menu.

Ordered Pepperoni Pizza; didn't have ricotta and they used a different Pepperoni than advertised on the menu.

Brought this to the attention of the server, nothing was offered as a remedy.

We still paid full price for half effort.

Server did receive a full 20% tip, fwiw.

Note; kindly disregard the food portion of my initial review. Things have changed for the worse and are now, rotten. I cannot recommend Rotten Johnnys, but hey, at least they're living up to their name. A-

Instantly greeted at entrance and promptly seated. Menu's dropped as we were sat. Waters just a minute later. Great start.

Sat on the patio facing a big open lawn space for kids to play. Nice.

We ordered a Menabrea, Italian Lager on tap and a Jalapeño Margarita. Prompt and cold. Nice nice.

The Woodfired Veggies of the Day were carrots, broccolini and cauliflower. A touch of garlic and olive oil. Tasty. Would definitely order again. Pro Tip; sprinkle some parmesan for a boost. ;]

Next up were our 2 pizzas. Pepperoni and a Truffle. Both arrived at the same time. The truffle was thin and crispy crust. Slight char on the bottom and my wife particularly like the fact that the mushrooms were Woodfired or Sautéed for a wonderful, rich mushroom flavor. The arugula was fresh and plentiful. White sauce and cheese. Just a kiss of truffle oil instead of being obnoxiously overpowered by truffle. The pepperoni was a little thicker but still crispy base and touch of char. They put a little ricotta on it and it works well to cut down the saltiness. Awesome mozzarella cheese on this pie. Might be a blend but very, very good. Chewy and stringy. We liked that. Plenty of pepperoni made me smile and ensure that I'll be back.

We were stuffed and had half of each pie leftover.

No dessert this time but we'll save room next time.

Service was attentive and thorough.

Overall quite happy to have found this Pizza joint.

The Pizza we ordered was perfect, the service was excellent & made me remember what proper service looks like. Plenty of check ups on us, ice cold drinks & guitars hanging on all the walls. This place was more than a pizza joint, it’s a community vibe!! Excellent 1st impression.

Great wings!!! I only wanted wings. I've been visiting the city for about 3 days now. I called about nine different places that sells chicken wings. After talking to everyone I chose Rotten Johnny's. I'm so glad that I did! This was a great experience with great tasting wings!

Good was AMAZING!! the service was a bit off. Idk if its bcuz i had just gotten out of the water and looked a bit crazy, but everything i ordered, I was given prices as if I couldn't afford it, or whatever!
Atmosphere was a little dead, but the music was good!! No one really smiled lol

Thats a HUGE thing for me. You have to make the place you work at, inevitable!!

Me and My Girlfriend were in Sedona for the weekend and decided to stay in last night before we went back home today. We decided to go to Rotten Johnnys since it was pretty close to where we were staying and Pizza sounded good.

Upon Arrival the staff was great and really friendly, and after we ordered me and my partner walked around the little plaza around the restaurant. After we came back we stood in front of the “please wait to be seated” sign. We were blatantly ignored by the male host that was there as he looked directly at my girlfriend standing there and continued to go about his working day (which is not a problem since they were busy). The problem is that when another customer walked in, he immediately went to tend them and then after he was done with them, he again completely ignored us. Another woman host came and finally asked what we were here for and gave us our pizza, I noticed some arguing between the staff and when she came back with our napkins and plates she just kinda threw them on the box and immediately turned around.

Honestly the Pizza was pretty good, but the experience made it so that the pizza had a bit of a sour taste in our mouths. We would honestly not come back again since we felt extremely unwelcome.

Found this gem at Sedona over the weekend. The veggie pizza was amazing. Fresh ingredients and staff are pleasant plus fast service. Definitely recommend. They have both outside and indoor sitting and they deliver. What else can you ask for? Amazing!

I ordered a gluten free pizza to go. I had an event the next day and looked forward to my meal. After my first piece, I started to feel ill. I am gluten free and have never had any issues if items are cross contaminated. This pizza made me so sick, i missed my event and was sick for 3 days.

Great food, absolutely horrible service, and the kitchen workers were extremely loud. If you can tolerate non-existent waitress service and hearing the kitchen talking so loud that you can't enjoy your meal, than go here, otherwise, stay clear.

A little slow in the kitchen, but well worth the wait. I had a truffle pizza, wife a veggie (hold the cucumber). Excellent crispy crust, not too much toppings (Neapolitan style), tons of arugula.
